I'm 10 today!

It's a special day...it's 10/10/10 and I'm 10!!!!!
I would like everyone to know that I have given my parents the best 10 years ever!

I'm perfect in every way....they may say otherwise, but this IS my diary!

I've spend my time with them making them laugh..a lot..cry a little, I've made sure they get their exercise, kept them warm at night and of course I've loved them. What more could a human ask for?

So...Happy Birthday to ME!!!!!

Farewell my Friend.................

My very bestest buddy and one of my first Dogster pals has taken his journey to the Bridge.
I cry for my loss and for your momma's loss for I know it is great. We both know you are now running free through those beautiful green fields at the Bridge. Your legs are are carrying you like the wind and there is no pain. I know that Caspar was there to greet you my friend and I can imagine Shawnee Skye, tail wagging, was there too. Through tears I picture the three of you running and playing, happy and free. I will miss you more then words can say and one day in the future I to will be there.

Birthday s are Great days!!!!

I turned 6 yesterday and want to thank all my pals that helped make the day that much more special. Mom has been real busy around the house packing things up for painting...I don't quite get that...but she took the day off and spent it with me. That was really nice. I got all kinds of toys...Auntie L..sorry, Frankie got gutted.....and I gutted another one but have so far left the others intact....for now. Mom didn't even get upset picking up stuffing from all over the house...Birthdays ROCK! I got the yummiest cake. It was made out of chicken and rice! Boy I REALLY didn't want to share that one...but I did nonetheless. All in all it was a great day. It would have been nicer had Dad not been out of town but now I get to have another celebration when he gets back! Two birthdays in one week....am I a lucky guy or what?

I'm passing my title on........

I was known in this house as the "Big Ole Whiney Guy"..well, I've now passed that title on to Apache! He is one heck of a whiner and that's suprising being he's a basenji and supposed to be relatively quiet. I think he whines much more than I ever did and not for any really good reason. Me, I'ld whine for attention and food mostly. He whines because he needs to go to the bathroom. What's that about? There's a doggie door that's always open...there's no need to whine...just pop out back and go! But NOOOO, the little fool holds it until we go on our walk and he finds a tree he thinks suitable to pee on. Mom says Dakota did the same thing, holding it..not whining...me, I just don't get it. On our walk, he whines constantly...there's a dog across the street, a crow hopping around, a squirrel in a tree....he should know by now that Mom isn't going to let him get them...why whine? Then, he whines when he hears tags jangling outside. Don't whine...BARK...there's a dog out there....oh yeah, that's right, he's a basenji so I guess I'll give him that one. But the boy doesn't whine for food....he still has so much to learn.

My last vacation

I had fun on our vacation too. While I missed the middle of the night excitement Chey and Apache had...I need my beauty rest you see.....I have my own things I like to do for fun.
I get to go swimming , and this time I was REALLY liking it. Yep, the pool is all mine! Well, I have to share with the humans...which is fine with me, I love the attention.... but those basenjis I live with won't go near the water. They don't know the fun they're missing! Mom even made a little video and it's here on my page. You can see I'm not even freaking out anymore! I still won't jump in on my own though. I stand across Dad's lap and he carries me in...someday I may take the plunge...I'm just not quite there yet.
Aside from that fun, I always relax while on vacation. I don't bark at the mailman..heck, I've never even seen one there..... and I don't think UPS or FEDEX know I live there because they don't come by to taunt me. It's a great place for a city dog to unwind.
Mom also took me to a new dog store and I got myself a nice new harness for our trips back and forth and the owner of the store loved me and wanted to take me home...hmmmmmm, wonder if she had a pool?
We've been back in the city for a while now, I'm a barking fool again and am counting the days until my next vacation.

BEER FOR DOGS

You may know that I love beer. The bad thing is I have always had to be sneaky and steal it. Tip a can over ...stick my tongue down the throat of a bottle someone is holding....sometimes I got a sip...BUT JUST A SIP! Well, I just happen to be the happiest dog alive today..they now have BEER FOR DOGS!!!! Shakespeare...I love ya man! Thanks for pointing it out to the old girl! It's called HAPPY TAIL ALE and yes my friends, it's just for us canines. I got to drink the whole bottle today and let me tell you...IT'S DELICIOUS!!!!!
So, any of my fellow beer drinking pups out there, point this out to your humans. You can even have it delivered straight to your door!
WHOO HOO...IT'S PAAAAAAAAAAAARTY TIME!!!!!!!!!!!

Rosette Mystery

I almost forgot with all the vacation excitement about my mystery rosette. Seems I got "poked" an anonymous rosette. Now, while I do believe I know who it is...one can never bee too sure about these things can they? THANK YOU !!!!!!!!!

I'M SWIMMING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Look at me would ya..just look! I'M SWIMMING!!!!!!!! It finally happened...I didn't panic or try to jump out of the pool real fast. I swam over to where Mom was and calmly stepped out of the pool. I still won't jump in on my own, Dad has to bring me out and let me go...but I"M SWIMMING!!!!!!! It sure was nice too being that it was super duper hot outside there in the desert. I wish we could have stayed longer, but we're back in the hot humid city now with no pool to cool off in. Oh well, there's always next time................

Visitors

While we were at the other house, we had visitors that I never met before. Mom and Dad's friend's from a place called Dallas came to stay a few days. I was a perfect gentleman dog....ok...I was perfectly Marlowe....lets leave it at that. They walked into the house and I immediately kissed them over and over and over again. I paid attention to them all the time, had them pet me and played with them plenty. I even decided to be really nice and let them have the comfort of me in their bed one night. Yep, I was the perfect host!
Mom said it was a good thing they were dog people....but really, who could resist my charms? I was really sad to see them go, but they said they'ld be back to see me................
