Arrival Story:
I had been checking animal control's site daily in hopes someone would adopt the sweet little Rattie I saw there. Her eyes seemed to be looking straight at me and calling me to help her. The organization I volunteer with has very short funds right now so I felt it would not be wise to go get her. Stil I watched her and had several dreams about her. In one dream I called her Katie. Then a miracle happened and I was able to go get her yesterday 3/24/08. She was going to be killed most likely today 3/25! She had been at the pound for 3 wks. She is so sweet, small, and sick with Kennel Cough. I don't know her age or her circunstances but I know she is a very loving little dog. No matter what the reason she is in this spot, I am here to help her get well and see she has a good loving home.
Bio:
Katie is a Rattie with a docked tail. She looks to be young but maybe up to 2 yrs old. She is very loving and shy. She clings to me and when I hold her she melts into me. She is coughing a lot right now but eats and drinks OK. I have her on 2 meds. and she is getting a lot of TLC. She needs to be spayed and wormed and vaccinated before she can be adopted. I will not allow her to go more than 25 miles from Lafayette. She is cute and soft and I am going to help her.

Wow! I am a diary pick today. This is so neat. Just like old times.
My foster mom spoke with my mom last night. She is home and my Aunt is doing well. She said I should come home. I am feeling mixed about that. I love it here. I like having dogs to play with sometimes......but sometimes not. The young ones always want to play! I guess I was like that once too. :) I do miss my mommy and my Aunt. She lives with us so I really have 2 moms. Our home is quiet and very easy going. Well I am going back home tomorrow evening. I will be back when mom needs to go someplace that I can't go.
It's been fun!

I'm back here with my foster parents and friends. I'm visiting again. My mom is not going on vacation this time. My Aunt had surgery so I came to hang out here for a while. I'm great. New friends and some old ones too. :)

Katy came back to us as the rescue's contract requires. She seemed so happy to be here again. She had new friends to play with and she just loved playing.
She was not here long when a wonderful home came open for her. She has moved on and is very happy there. They take her for a walk 3 times a day and she has slimmed down very nicely, Katie is loved and I know she is happy. Poor Katy has had a very insecure life. Cross paws she will never leave this home.
