Arrival Story:
Our son wanted a bulldog so we drove seven hours up and seven hours back with him on a long day to pick up our the latest addition to our family. He could easily be picked up in one hand and liked chewing on our fingers and ears (-now he is a 100lb big boy). He piddled on his mom on the long journey back to bond with her, and was amazingly unfazed by the whole experience. He slept with the kids in the lounge his first night in his new home and was comforted by his mom when he got a little upset on the first morning. Since then he has been right at home here.

Bio:
Though he was removed from his biological mom and dad when younger than usual he was well looked after by the breeder who obviously knew what she was doing. He is a registered pedigree though his mom and dad have little interest in that. He is an only dog but treated just like the human kids. He is a focal point of and a wonderful addition to the family.

Flooding

It has been raining heavily here. When I went to walk near the stream yesterday my dad was quite concerned that I not fall in as the stream was at least six feet higher than normal and flowing very strongly.

Then at night we had a downpour about midnight and there was a mini river flowing across our lawn, some of which was pouring into the basement! My dad didn't seem too pleased, carrying heavy stone tiles in the rain to try and staunch the flooding, but I thought it was great fun! I got a case of the zoomies, including running round our pear trees where it was all muddy, so dad took a break to make sure my feet were washed before going back inside. (That wasn't too hard as the water was just streaming over the lawn). I also helped my dad by picking up some of the branches he had carefully positioned and taking them somewhere else. He didn't seem too pleased at that either!

Then we went back to bed as the downpour died down. I looked in the basement this morning as it was all muddy. (My dad pointed to the watermark showing that the water was up to a foot high at its peak, but no real harm done).

7 Fun Facts About Me

Well, Tubby has tagged me - to tell 7 fun facts about me!

1. My granddad was a national champ and my dad a champ in the show ring (just found that out a couple of weeks ago)
2. I am however almost twice the recommended weight for show bulldogs though (at over 90lbs) - so I am much bigger than my forebears!
3. I was born in Rotorua, which has a sulphur, rotten egg, smell because of all the geysers
4. When I was about four months old a near neighbour would bring her five year old bully bitch to visit, and I was already bigger than her! (I also started humping her so I was a bit of a precocious lad).
5. We walk off lead nearly everywhere; once we met a policeman with the alsation puppy he was training to be a police dog, but he didn't mind us being off leash although we legally shouldn't have been.
6. Once I stepped into a hole in the stream and sunk right to be bottom; my human brother pulled me out - but my tail was still high and I was completely not bothered.
7. I have a surprising turn of speed and can run much faster than my human family - but only for a very short distance - and once I knocked my dad flying when he tried to catch me!

I am pretty well recovered from my operation now, although I am still favoring my left hind leg some. Last two pictures are of me today, in the local park, and then sitting on a chair on the deck.
