Message from Mommy to her Girls...

The week after Thanksgiving I was diagnosed with a terminal illness and not only am I quite sick but will be having a surgery tomorrow that I will never be the same after. I love my girls so very much and just wanted to let them and everyone know how much they mean to me. J-Lo: I am so glad that you came into our lives. I have never met another person or animal who is so Zen and so together. (Keep learning from your Mommy, Miss G means well and she really didn't mean to hurt you that one time. Be careful with Mojo, she will lead you to the dark side.) Mojo: thank you for all the smiles and laughter, you have kept us on our toes and we would not have had it any other way. Miss Gambler: what can I say, you are my heart. We always get each other and feel each other's emotions and I know that this has hurt you the most. You and I are a part of each other, forever. I am so sorry that we all didn't get to have our normal Christmas, especially sorry for J-Lo, but you did love your gifts and that made me very happy! I will always love you guys and know that Daddy will take such great care of you!!!

Guess what we got for our Birthday?!?!?!

We got a living breathing Chihuahua!! (I just asked for cookies and a burger, and my Mojo just wanted a couple of toys, how did Mommy misunderstand that??) My new little girl is a rescue that my Mommy could not say no to(I will have to teach her how), she is red, just like me, same color even!! And the funny thing is that I like her, I really really like her. (And she likes me, Mojo is warming up to her now that she can tell that her Daddy is not going to be kidnapped from her. New girl is a Mommy's girl just like me.) She is happy and healthy and came from a puppy mill/backyard breeder operation. (She has a baby daddy, but I don't hold that against her.) She's happy and healthy and is learning to play. She acts like she has never ever seen a toy. She loves clothes(good thing that Mommy likes to buy them!). Mommy will post some photos of her on here soon, she is just going to join us here on this page, makes it easier that way. Oh, as for the name of my new little girl, it's J-Lo. Mommy says that there is just something about her that reminds her of the human J-Lo. As for her age, it's ironic that not only are the three of us all three years apart in age, but according to what my Mommy was told, her birthday is the day after mine, and the day before we celebrate my Mojo's. Three girls, all three years apart, and three birthdays in three days. Meant to be. **Family Circle magazine had an article that ranked the Cardigan Corgi as the runner-up for best dog for rural families(photo they used was of a Pembroke Corgi though!!) and they ranked the Dachshund as the runner-up for best dog with families with rambunctious kids(but a good breeder will not sell to someone with children under eight?!?!). I'm a little bummed, my Mojo and I both runner-up?? Oh well, our Mommy loves us, and so does J-Lo. Later!!!

Buble...Buble...Buble...

Michael Buble... that's all I am hearing today. Watch for the 60 minutes segment on him, you will see my Mommy, and Lara Logan, and of course dreamy Michael. They filmed last night. I love Michael also, Mommy has played his music for me for years, but I can use a music shuffle right about now, pretty please Mommy? I promise not to close the bedroom door anymore, I know that it's mean to make my Mojo run into it. I just do it to get her attention, it makes her stop, for just a second. Hit shuffle, ok? Later!!

WHAT AN HONOR!!

I am DOGSTER DOG OF THE WEEK!! Mommy says that I can splurge and have a very special(code word for sweet) treat today. I'm not anything special, just trying to be the best dog I can be, and I just LOVE to make my Mommy happy and proud. It's been a ruff few months. I have had another histiocytoma(this time on my paw), and I had a fatty tumor on my tummy checked and diagnosed when I had my physical(vet says that I get to keep it, just my luck, like I need another speck of fat!), and I just can't keep my ears clean(and they have always been spotless and are my pride and glory, that's a Corgi thing.) It just sucks getting old!! Oh, my Mommy wants to know why I only play with green balls. I have five, all the same size, and Mommy bought me a pink one just like them and I won't touch it, she says that it's like I pretend that it doesn't even exist. Am I scared of pink?? Later!!

Princess Catherine (Duchess of Cambridge)

We have been up all night with my Mommy watching the Royal Wedding. (Just had another snack, guess Mojo and I will sleep all day, but we can't go to bed yet, Mommy said that the Royal kiss was coming up, and we can't miss that, especailly Mojo, she really gets into kissing.) But how could we miss any of this history, the Royal family loves both of our breeds so much, they even created the Dorgi(well, the first time was by accident, but the Dachshund/Corgi dogs were so cute they started something. Well, gotta go, snack break #10 coming up, oh, and thanks to DOGSTER for the DOG OF THE DAY honor this week, and thanks for all the well wishes. Later!

Vet Visit

We just had a vet visit, shots, check-up, etc.... (and they did everything but change the oil!). I was A-OK, chilling in the lobby(my little Mojo was doing her usual nervous squealing and a little barking while waiting, that little girl gets more and more jittery every year). But I was fine until they called me back to the room and I had to walk past this REALLY big dog. I looked straight ahead and didn't even say hello(he didn't look like he was in the mood to be social anyway), but he lunged at me when I passed him, snarled and everything, sounded like he wanted to really introduce himself, with his teeth. I made my Mommy proud, I kept right on walking, did not even bark or even turn to look. This response was immediately rewarded by having to step on the scales. (Need to lay off the snacks, but just a little.) When I had to enter the examining room though, I put on the brakes, all four of them, and I had to be picked up and placed on the table. Then I made the mistake of snapping at my beloved doctor, who has teneded to me since I was a tiny pup and nothing but ears (okay, I'm still all ears, but I really was tiny once). They had to wrap my snout just to get through with the exam, and all because of that big Shep, why did he have to ruin my day?!?! Oh, and Mojo was really good, loud, but good, my doctor just loved snuggling with her. That's my Mojo! Later!!

Warning to Corgi pals....

My Mommy just got ANOTHER computer(2nd in three weeks!!) with a new and different security system, and when she clicked on a Corgi site that she views every so often to keep up with news to help me, she received a warning from her security stating that it was a KNOWN site to send spyware, then the security even blocked her computer from that site to protect the system(of course she can override this, but why would she??). Just a note to pals to tell your pawrents to pay attention to their security settings and warnings and to keep their security constantly updated. Later!!

RIP Miss Bonnie!!

I just found out that a Corgi human friend has died. Her name was Bonnie, and she loved Corgis, she was owned by three! Bonnie is the one who talked my Mommy and me into joining Dogster. RIP Bonnie, your Corgis will miss you but everyone knows that you are healthy again and you're at the bridge playing with Digger. (And to all the Corgi people who treated her badly, shame on you, you should be ashamed, you're disgraceful! What goes around comes around.) LATER!!(It's a sad sad time, hug your doggies in memory of Bonnie.)

Mommy was just having some fun with us!

She's allergic but my Mojo and I aren't going anywhere, she's promised us that, we're lifers she said, whether we like it or not. Oh, as for her funny looks that she was giving us, well, turns out that was just the meds, she's on several now and Daddy says that she is more loopy than normal. As for her being allergic, I'm sure it's just to my Mojo, I'm too sweet to make her that sick. Later!!
