Arrival Story:
I get emails from all over the U.S. about dogs needing homes in shelters. Jaci's face really stuck out when I was looking at pictures. She looked so sweet and I read her bio with tears in my eyes. It showed pictures of her full of milk because she had recently had puppies but was found as a stray with no puppies in sight. We will never find out what happen to her babies....... They went on to say that when one of the volunteers of the shelter was taking Jaci back to her pen she heard some puppies in another pen that was with their mom. Jaci went down on her belly and crawled to the pen to be near the puppies. She obviously was a great mom and missed her puppies dearly. She touched me so much so I emailed the rescue, which was in Texas. I asked if there was any way that I could sponsor her until she found a home because she was due to be put to sleep at any time. The very nice lady emailed me back and said she could do better than that, she could set up a transport and get her Iowa to live with me for the rest of her life! I was thrilled! She pulled her from the shelter for me, had her vetted and boarded for two looooong weeks until she could be transported. It took so long because the weather was awful for awhile. Jaci was spayed, treated for all kindsof intestinal parasites and staph infection. I can't thank the people enough that were involved in Jaci's transport because not only did they save this precious dog's life, they made my life whole. She is such a gem and my baby girl. I love her so much!
