Arrival Story:
I adopted Sid along with his sister, Nancy, from my local animal shelter. The people at the shelter told me they were found on a farm, in the woods, in an abandoned shed. Their mother was nowhere to be found when they were discovered. The minute I saw them I knew I had to adopt them together. They were cuddled together in their cage, and it had occurred to me that they had probably been taking care of each other since they were born. How could I possibly separate them??! When I brought Sid and his sister home, they were both very sick. Yet, Sid seemed to be much stronger. He hovered over Nancy most of the first night in their new home. I took them to the vet first thing the next morning. Sid had a few more follow up visits afterwards, but he showed much improvement very early on. However, he was very worried about Nancy, who we were not sure would last very long. He would pace around her and cuddle with her during the days while she slept. He would whine to alert me if she was feeling terribly sick. Finally, his sister pulled through and before long, they were both playing and running around and making mommy very exhausted trying to keep up with them! They both have separate beds now, but I let them sleep in the same kennel if they are very good because they still like to cuddle together. It's obvious how much they love and rely on each other and I'm so happy I was able to adopt them together.

Sid loves chewing on sticks and barking at anything that comes near Mommy or Nancy. He is very protective of his family. His favorite treat of all time is a big bowl full of water and ice to chew on!

Forums Motto:
See stranger, commence barking.
