Birthday: May 18th 2006 Likes: Kya likes people and LOVES other dogs! Pet-Peeves: When people or dogs aren't paying attention to her. And don't mess with her when she has a treat! Favorite Toy: Whichever toy is new and makes lots of noise. Favorite Food: Skittles, pig ears and ice cubes Favorite Walk: Around the neighborhood Best Tricks: She's too proud to do tricks! Arrival Story: I purchased Kya in August of 2006 at Just Puppies in Houston. She was the sweetest, most calm little puppy for the first couple of days. After that, she decided that this was her house and she was just letting us live here. She's spoiled rotten and always wants to be the center of attention. But, she's so cute about it that we don't mind. :)
Her biological dad is DK's Shadow (black & white) and her biological mom is DK's Briana (red & white). She's definitely a combo of the two. The markings on her head are a chocolate brown and her fur gets lighter down the body to where she's pretty red on her tail. Every day we walk around the neighborhood, someone stops us to say how pretty she is. She loves the attention and it sure makes me proud of my baby! Bio: Kya loves all dogs of all sizes but they have to want to play. She will play non-stop for days (seriously!) if there are other pups to play with. Fortunately, she has some best friends that like to play with her - Teddy, a 93 lb Husky mix; Marty, a 45 lb Border Collie, Cocoa, a 75 lb Lab; and Wylie, a 15 lb Terrier mix. She snarls, growls and barks when she's playing so she sounds a bit like Cujo but she's all bark and no bite. She's also very "alpha." She's the boss and she knows it! Fortunately, she has a brother now (Willie) and they play hard all day. My friend, Cocoa, came to see me the other day and I was so excited. Most of my friends live out of town so I don't get to play with pups very often. I ran around the house like a crazy pup when she got here! Cocoa was a little shy at first. I think it's because we haven't seen each other in a while and because my daddy makes her nervous.
She doesn't like men, especially tall ones like my daddy, but she eventually figured out that he was OK and we got to play. She likes to play rough like me, so that was awesome! I slept SO good that night.
Oh and I got to see Cocoa's mom (my "aunt" Cassandra) and she told us that she is going to have a baby. Ooops, guess I shouldn't have thrown myself on her like that. :) Anyway, my mommy says I won't be able to be around the baby because I'm too hyper. I'll have to wait until she's older and can handle my special kind of Husky excitement.
