"Bree Bree", Breezy, Breezer, Rabid Squirrel, Fluffernutter

Doggie Dynamics:
not playfulvery playful

Sun Sign:
Quick Bio:

August 31st 2007

Bree loves to play and spend time with her family. She's learning the game of "fetch" which she's a natural at, but sometimes she'd prefer to play "chase".

Bree doesn't like to be ignored or having her chew sticks stolen by Flash or Spike.

Favorite Toy:
Bree's favorite toy is anything she can get her teeth into! However, she does have an unhealthy fixation of the Apple TV remote control.

Favorite Food:
ANYTHING! This is not a picky Pom. Peanut butter is a new passion.

Favorite Walk:
ANYWHERE. She loves exploring the neighborhood and her yard with Flash and Spike.

Best Tricks:
When you say "in your crate", she runs to her crate for a bed or naptime treat. Also, when she was still too small to climb the stairs we used to carry her in a pet bed that we'd call her "elevator". We'd say, get in your elevator and she'd jump in!

Arrival Story:
We chose Bree from a litter of 5 puppies at Cheyenne Farm Kennels in Rhode Island. She was the runt of the litter with a very independent nature. My stepson chose her because he loved her little white front paws. She joins our foxhounds Flash and Spike and kitty cat Angel.

I went to the Spa yesterday and came out shorn like a sheep! Best diet in the world! I think I lost 5 pounds in fur. My mum was so shocked at my appearance that she just laughed and laughed. She says I look adorable, but I'm not sure. What do you all think?

I went to see my vet yesterday to make sure I'm healing correctly from my knee operation. I'm healing very well and my legs feel nice and sturdy, but I'm a bit bummed out because my vet recommended 4 more weeks of crate confinement. 4 MORE WEEKS!!!! I'm going stir crazy! My people have been letting me out on my leash and I've been getting lots of cuddles and I get to sit in laps a lot, but no playing with my toys or running in my yard. I can't wait for the 4 weeks to be over so I can play and run and jump and spin like a normal Pom. Oh well. *growl* *moan*.......

Patellar Luxation Is Not Fun

I've been having knee trouble so my person brought me to see my favorite vet. They said I had grade 2 and grade 3 patellar luxation which meant nothing to me. I felt fine! But my people along with my vet decided I needed an operation to fix my knobby knees. So on May 24th I had surgery on both my hind knees. Man, did that ever hurt. But I had some really good drugs so I didn't really feel anything for a day or so. I stayed overnight at the vet and then my people took me home the next day. It hurt when they picked me up. I cried out loudly when our car went over a bump. It hurt to place me in my crate and I growled and snapped at my people. They know I didn't mean it, I was just in so much pain. I'm confined to my crate and I have to wear the stupid cone around my neck. I also have to take 3 kinds of pills which I eat with a nice teaspoon of peanut butter. Yum! I love peanut butter!

For the first few days after my operation I could barely stand. My legs just gave out and my people had to help me walk with a sling around my belly. It's very hard to pee and poop when you can't put weight on your back legs! The sling helped though and now one week later I can put weight on both my hind legs. I was a bit of bad girl last week though. I got my cone off and I pulled out all the metal sutures on my left hind leg. Lucky for me and to the relief of my people the incision has already healed closed. I'm wondering if I have or will ever pass those staples, cuz you understand that I had to eat the evidence! I get the rest of my sutures out next Wednesday and I hope they'll take the cone off. Being stuck in my crate morning, noon and night is no fun, especially now when I'm feeling so much better. But I heard my people talking and it seems that I'll be in my crate for a few more weeks. Doctors orders apparently. Man does that stink!! I'm so stir crazy I just bark and whine, bark and whine. Maybe if I continue to bark and whine my people will let me outside on my leash. Wish me luck, I'm going to try it now!
