Arrival Story:
Marley was a racer when he was younger. He was actually pretty good, but as he slowly began to lose races, his handlers lost interest in him-which is a good thing because that's how he finally found his way home to me! I adopted him from a rescue organization in Feb. 2007 and it was the best decision I have ever made. Marley is the sweetest boy-he runs up to just about anyone (but he prefers pretty girls) and just charms them into loving him. It took him a whole year to understand what toys were for, and it was such a joy watching him be so proud of himself as he learned to play fetch. Just recently, he has decided that he has the ability to speak and so he has taken to barking at me whenever he wants me to do something. Just one bark at a time followed by an intense stare that can only mean "do it, do it!!" Marley is my first Greyhound, and I can honestly say I will be adopting Greys for the rest of my life. They are just the most wonderful, intelligent, loyal and loving dogs. Just at the rescue organization I got Marley from alone, there are 200+ Greys have been abandoned by the racing industry and need homes. If you are thinking of adopting, please consider a Greyhound!!
