O
furry-
bedecked!
O glitter bone!
Let the wild wind erect
boneboneboneanzas; scoobies effect
frostyfreeze nutro bones; kibblestuff adorn
all frenzied creation in a madcap crown of horn!
It’s a new day; no scapegrace of a sect
tidying up the ashtrays playing Daughter-in-Law Elect;
balls! kong toys! squeeky cigars! pee on the grass! a son born
now
now
while dog and cat and babe lie
together as poor creatures will
and tears of her exertion still
cling in the spent girl’s eye
and a great fstar in the sky
drifts to the western hill.

Corsa here, I am officially a tripod. But I am in good health. My vet says I have a few good years in me yet. This is thanks to my people who pushed for a diagnosis, my vet who was very supportive of the surgery, and my baby sister who stood by me all the way! Being a tripod isn't so bad. I still swim like a fish, retrieve like a ... um retriever, eat like a pig, and love like the big ole dog that I am. Mom will post some pictures later. And I just want to tell dog companions that they should look into Pet Insurance, my companions have it, and because of it we were able to pay for my surgery. And hey, being a tripod doesn't suck. I get lots of attention, and I am happy, healthy and best of all get to hang out with my companions. I'll get back to the poetry here in a few weeks.

Hello all, I am glad that you enjoy Corsa's poetry, and I hope that there will be many years more of his witty musings. Corsa is a little under the weather these days. A few weeks ago we were at the beach, he was having a good old time running, jumping and doing all the things a dog does at the beach. About a hour into our beach trip he started to limp. We didn't think anything of it, it has happened in the past. However, this time he continued to limp for well over a week. Long story short, x-rays and a bone biopsy later revealed that he has a chondrosarcoma tumor in his leg. Chrondrosarcoma is a cancer that is rare in dogs and not well documented at all. My understanding is that it is does not move as rapidly or is as devastating as osteosarcoma, but our vets are being very cautious about telling us anything. His sonogram, chest x-rays and blood work are clear - which is a great sign, meaning that we caught the cancer in its earliest stages. He will be having amputation surgery this coming week. If the biopsy on the leg comes back with the cancer in its earliest stages (I or II) he will not have to have chemo. He is a trooper, you would never know that he is not in perfect health with the small exception that he won't use that back leg. I will update this page soon, and Corsa will be back in a few weeks with more of his wit and humor.
