Likes:
She is getting a fence around the yard this year. She loves walks and trips to the dog park where she can run wild with her friends.

Pet-Peeves:
She hates sirens, and will silently crawl under the coffee table or computer desk when she hears them. And we live right by a fire station!

Favorite Toy:
She plays with them all regularly.

Favorite Food:
retriever rolls and Beneful.

Favorite Walk:
Around the neighborhood, or in the town square, or especially at the horse farm.

Best Tricks:
She stays in the house with the cat while I am at work, and is a perfect angel while i am gone. She has never chewed anything that was not "hers". She is awesome!! She also does some tricks on voice command, like truning circles, walking on hind legs....

Arrival Story:
Her Registered name is "Valhalla's Free Scout". Friends of ours got Scouty form a breeder when she was a wee pup. She was the runt. The firends had just had a baby girl who it was determined was highly allergic to the dog. I was not looking for a dog, or ready to own one, or so I thought. My husband called me and asked me to just go look at the dog. When I walked into the house, there was Scouty, just calm and sweet, at 4 months old. They were having to keep her outside or in the basement because of the baby's allergies. The pup was just so loving and well-behaved. There was something about those eyes. I could not leave her there that night. I took her home along with all her food and supplies, and vet records, and her papers. I have no children, and I fell in love with my puppy like she was my own child. I started watching Cesar Milan's show The Dog Whisperer, and I did everything he suggested. we even bought a house a few months later that had the amenities and the type of yard we wanted for a dog. The rest is history. She is 2 and a ahlf now, and the best dog I could have ever hoped for.

Things are changing around here.

Since mommy and daddy first got me, my mommy has been back in college fulltime. So she had lots of time to be here at home with me, while she was studying. She was only gone about 4 or 5 hours a day. Now her clincials have started and she has to leave me and the kitty for about 9 hours a day, and the same for when she gets her new job.

I am a perfect angel roaming the house while mommy is gone. But mommy feels guilty that she has to leave me for so long. I am 2 and a half and I seem just fine and I nap a lot while she is gone. I also play with my toys and the kitty. But mommy feels so guilty!! Even though she gets me out for a walk on most days when it is nice, and she plays games with me in the evening, and she takes me to the dog park a couple of times a week.

Can anybody identify with this? Can anybody help to assure mommy that it is really ok that she has a career going now?

Please help my mommy with her feelings.
Love,
Scouty
