Arrival Story:
We acquired Lucky very irresponsibly. My family (I was only 12 at the time) finally decided to get a dog. We decided we would get a small, non-shedding dog. A Shih-Tzu. Shortly after deciding in a Shih-Tzu we went to a pet store in town, without planning on buying a pet. My sister and I fell in love with a cute sable-and-white puppy. She was very shy but we loved her. We begged and begged for her and finally my dad relented. We were so happy to finally get a dog. It has been and still is hard to live with her. She is a butthead who is smart enough to know what you want and to know when you can and cannot make sure she does it. But staying on top of her obedience training has ensured she is a loving family companion.

Forums Motto:
It's a dog's life...and a dog's bed.

Goodbye:
Sadly, Lucky passed away on Nov. 23, 2006. An accident resulting in a slip and fall down the stairs left her without the use of her rear legs. Over the course of a week she also lost control over both bowels and bladder. When her kidneys and liver started to fail, her family knew it was time to help her go. Her friends came to say good bye and she was spoiled with treats. She went for her last car ride with her mom's arms around her, holding her so she could enjoy the wind in her ears. She left this world and pain behind, but she will never leave our hearts.
