Arrival Story:
Blackie's original guardian, Cindy H. of Las Vegas, formerly of St. Louis, will NEVER BE FORGOTTON. She passed away on February 23, 2008. I am honored to adopt Blackie into my family. She lived in Las Vegas most of her life with her guardian, Cindy and Cindy's daughter, B Ruf, but originally, she is a California Girl. About 5 or 6 years after arriving at her home in Vegas, she got a brother named Rascal, a Bishon Freak. They loved each other so much. They slept side by side every night and wrestled all day. Rascal and Blackie rode all the way from Las Vegas to St. Louis in January 2008 with B Ruf and me. After the first big snow, Rascal decided to split town and head back to Vegas. He hitched a ride with a total stranger, Veronica. We've warned him about hitch hiking. Luckily, Veronica took good care of him on the ride home. He misses Blackie and Blackie misses him so very much. She has adjusted well to her new home. She has a huge fenced yard to run around in and there's this white stuff they call snow. It turns yellow when, uh, well nevermind, but she never saw that stuff in Vegas or California. It's pretty cool. She also loves being allowed on the furniture finally. She joins her brother, Sammie, a 5 year old Jack Russell Terrorist Mix, her new Daddy, Keith, and her human brother and sister, Steven and Stacy.

Bio:
Blackie is the sweetest dog I have ever known. She loves to jump up in the air and stand there waiting for you to grab her so she knows it's okay for her to put her paws on you. She will just hang there with her front paws suspended forever. It is so cute. She is so patient with her new, younger brother, Sammie. He is a bit jealous, but they get along pretty well, and he is starting to like having her around. He sure didn't like Blackie's brother Rascal!!! What a perfect name for that little punk!
