Arrival Story: I had been wanting a Maltese for a long time. My mom had almost won one at a silent auction for her school. The parent who had provided the dog for the auction had told my mom that we would get the next litter. Well some time went by and the dog still hadn't had a new litter, the sire they had used in the past had moved to california. That is what got me to start thinking about Maltese, I then had to learn everything about them. I had wanted a dog for awhile but couldn't have one while living at college. When I moved back home I kept thinking about how I would get a dog when I moved out on my own and could afford one. Well a couple of months after moving home, my family and I got to puppysit Mickey, the dog from the auction. He was just wonderful, and did not upset my allergies at all. At the end of december my mom told me she had hoped that my dad would get her a dog for christmas but he didn't. When I found this out, I know she was open to having a dog in the house, so I began the search for a puppy. At the end of January my mom finally gave in and told me pick one. Well I had been looking through the classifieds in the paper everyday and a few days later I found one that sounded perfect. I called the breeder and asked my questions to make sure she was reputable and not a puppymill. On February 2nd, almost 2 years after almost getting a maltese at an auction, my mom and I drove up to Oklahoma to get Bellatrix. A week later I found out that the person that had promised us a puppy from her next litter had gotten ill and the mother wasn't going to have anymore litters. So it was a good thing I acted when I did, instead of waiting.
Bio: Until Bella was 8 weeks old she lived with her sister on a farm, often playing with the breeders grandchildren. On a cold february morning she was wrapped up in a blanket, all 1 lb 12 oz. of her, and put in the car with me. When we got home, she was very scared and didn't even go to the bathroom until the evening. That night she got comfortable enough to even play a little. I tried to have her sleep in her crate that night, but she wimpered so much I put her in bed with me. For the rest of the week I put her in the crate, with her waking me up every two hours to go out. I then decided to see how she was sleeping with me, which was a wonderful idea, only waking up once in the middle of the night to go out. After having her for two and a half months she is wonderful, loves to play, and has the energy of a dog 5 times her size, which is now 2 lbs 13 oz.

I've Been On Dogster Since:
Well, it's wednesday and that means daycare. Jake was there today so I got to play with him. I really love daycare, except today and the last time there has been a big aussie pup in there. He runs over everyone, it would be ok except I'm not even three pounds. And he is a sloberer, I do not like that and I wasn't the only one. They kept having to take him out of the room because he would get soo wild. Today a very fancy shih tzu was in daycare, I kept wondering how she could let her mommy but a clip in her hair and she didn't even try to get it out.
I am so glad I'm little and cute, I use it to my advantage...today the shih tzu and I got to play in the front while everyone else had to be in nap time. It was so much fun to just play one on one, because it is hard work having to be the queen to all the others and telling them what to do.
I was very very tired when mommy came to pick me up. I took a little nap until my poppa went outside. I had to go to, he was playing in the dirt and he couldn't do that without me. He had this long stick and taking out clumps of grass and putting them in the box. It is so nice to put the grass in the box for me, I haven't seen it yet but I am sure that he is going to make me a grassy yard area in the house! After I realized thats what he is doing I stopped trying to get the grass out and started putting my head in the holes he made. I thought there would be some good worms, but I couldn't find any because poppa kept dragging me away.
Mommy then took me for a little walk to see baby Pierce, he is much nicer to me that baby Tommy. He just likes watching me and giving soft pat-pats.
I told mommy I was tired so she brought me to bed to take a nap.
I had to go to the vet yesterday...mommy said it's the last time for awhile since I am done with my shots. I don't mind going to the vet and did fine, but I did not want to go into the small room and made mommy pick me up. Now I have a seven week break until I have to go back. Mommy said it won't be bad because they just have to check my teeth. They have to wait for all my puppy teeth to fall out before they spay me. The vet shouldn't have said that around me because now I'm gonna make sure I never loose anymore teeth!
I made mommy made this morning, but thats what she gets for taking me to the vet yesterday. This morning when grammy brought me back to mommy's bed I didn't go back to sleep. I just kept climbing on the pillow and licking mommy or biting her toes through the covers. And then right before she got up, I decided I could finally go back to sleep.
Then when mommy got on her computer to do homework I kept climbing on the keyboard to mess her up. BOL!
