Arrival Story:
We wanted a friend for Allie, our other Eskie, since she no longer had Tag. Tag was our beloved pomeranian, who died way to early at the age of 17. We searched for a long time. We wanted to get a dog from a rescue this time. I searched petfinders and local shelters. Finally we found puppies online at the American Eskimo Dog Rescue and Sanctuary of Iowa. We knew that one was right for us. We choose a girl because we all didn't want to feel like we were trying to replace Tag. We drove 6 and 1/2 hours each way to get her. We took Allie with us so that she could meet her new sister. They had so many Eskies. They were all so cute. It broke my heart to hear some of the stories these babies had. It makes you crazy to think that people can be so awful to their pets. Thank goodness for places like this rescue. Abigail took a few days to adjust to a crazy house with 4 kids. She is such a sweet girl and we are happy to have her in our family. Allie loves her so much and they play so well together. Abigail really brought Allie out of her "funk" after loosing Tag. She is a blessing.

We just got back from Florida! I got to meet my Nannie and her dog Danny. I LOVE Florida! I got to chase squirrels! It was the best! My Nannie gave me all kinds of treats and Danny and I are now the best of friends! I saw Lizards! What great things! I chased them! I caught one and its tail fell off! I felt bad but my mom said it would grow another one. How great is that! I also went swimming in my Nannies pool. I liked cooling off but I am not sold on the whole swimming thing. Florida is great, I can't wait to go back!!

I learned last week that the wonderful dog that I was named after has gone to the bridge. The rescue where my mom got me had named me Nikki. It is a beautiful name, but my Nannies dog was Nikki and my mom thought it best to change it. Well, my namesake died and I just wanted to mention it because she was beautiful and loved like crazy. Her mom is very sad and so are we. She lived to be 18 years old. I never met her in person, but it is an honor to know that they named me after her. Rest in peace Nikki Churchill and Love and God's blessings to your human mommy!
