Arrival Story:
My husband and I rescued this sweet girl the day after Christmas of this past year. When we brought her home she was guessed to be a little over 3 months old and weighed only 4 pounds. Within 2 weeks our brave puppy was a whopping 21 pounds! Jovi, her litter mates, and mom were left on the humane society doorstep on Christmas Day and I was called in to help, seeing as I privately rescue local dogs. I take the cases that no one else will. Her mother had to be put down the day they were abandoned due to severe malnutrition and neglect. The rest of the litter all died one by one in the next few weeks and Jovi is the only one who survived this ordeal. She is now 62 pounds and is a very happy girl. We had to help her through severe food aggression (not too surprising when the poor puppy had been so badly starved), fearful aggression, insecurities, and separation anxiety. She still suffers from mild anxiety but all aggression issues are completely gone. Jovi is one of seven permanent dogs in our home and since I work from my home as a Graphic and Web designer, I am able to give all of our dogs the love, training, time, and care that they deserve. She is one happy little pup who sleeps next to me in her dog bed every night.
