 Quick Bio:
 Birthday: April 10th 2004
Likes: Chewing my underwear when I'm not looking, sleeping curled up next to my belly

Pet-Peeves: When I leave the apartment and don't take her with me, she also doesn't like black garbage bags on the street or the grating on the sidewalks. She refuses to walk on them.

Favorite Toy: Purple squeaky dog from David, Sea Snuggly from Kathleen

Favorite Food: Apple, Cheese Doodles (the puffy kind), and nuts of all types

Favorite Walk: Around Chinatown and Tompkins Square Park's little and big dog runs

Best Tricks: Crawling. Take a Bow. Talk.

Arrival Story: I picked her up in Texas where my parents also live, and on the car trip home, she threw up in the car. She was the shy scared pup of the litter. Her sister was very hyper and wanted to be picked up, but since I'm sort of hyper, I went for Chewie instead. Can't have two hyper personalities in my studio!

Chewie went to a model shoot the other week for the January 2006 Brides Magazine issue. This is her first "modeling" gig and she was a true, natural professional. I didn't know if the flashing lights would frighten her or if she would sit still long enough to hold her poses with the model, who also owns a dog and was very sweet to Chewie. Chewie was perfect. She was unfazed by the lights and held her poses quietly and steadily. She did everything that was asked as long as I was in her field of vision. And of course, she loved all the attention. The art editor put this diamond necklace on Chewie too. I could tell Chewie had a good time because it was a new situation and environment. She likes new challenges. The shoot lasted two hours.

I must say, I'm really good at hustling. And I just happen to be really good at what I do. This Sunday I got called in to do some emergency design work for Hanft Raboy whose office I so love on the corner of Hudson and Canal. They are a small ad agency doing really, really cool work. I can tell they're good because everyone there are creative thinkers and have kooky ideas that have been really fun to work on.
Anyway so another reason why I like them is because they let me bring Chewie to work! On Sunday I pulled a 13 hour day but I wasn't stressed out or anxious as I usually would be when I work long hours because Chewie was right there!
Everyone loved her, of course. The most common comment I hear is, "I'm usually not a small dog person, but Chewie is different."
And I'm like, yeah okay I'm usually not a BIG people person but YOU'RE different.
