Arrival Story:
We saw Riley at the East Side Petsmart as part of a local rescue group's adoption efforts, and immediately fell in love with her mellow, gentle personality. Two days later our application was approved and we picked her up exactly one week after we first saw her, on March 15, 2008. All we know is that she is originally from Illinois and was sent to a local rescue group, Shelter from the Storm. She was on antibiotics for bronchitis, and after testing positive for heartworm, has completed heartworm treatment on 2/13 and 2/14. After we adopted her, she was sick for about 2 months: intestinal worms, ear and skin infections, and kennel cough.
Bio:
Riley is now completely healthy - she has put on about 20 llbs ands her coat is beautiful. She is a total sweetheart - loves to be petted and will try to sit in your lap! She has some Pyrenees traits - very independent and won't be rushed, but also has the Golden Retriever sweetness. We feel blessed to have her in our family!
