Nicknames: bubba, puppy, big boy, brat, sol, solly, soul-man
Expected Adult Size:
Large (51-100 lbs.)
Arrival Story: My nephew and his wife had the mom and dad & the litter...they showed me pics online (they're in VA, i'm in NJ) and he was the CUTEST thing w/this little white chin & rottweiler colors. but i couldn't commit to a puppy. then my brother went to visit them and after all the pics they sent me over the course of 2 months, i was in love. my brother brought Solomon home to us.
Bio: Unfortunately...as it so often goes, we got ourselves into more than we imagined. Our yard is not fenced in and we all work an hour away from home and Solomon needs to RUN!! my poor boy is cooped up all day. If anyone knows of a good spot for this beautiful boy to run around, write to us! He's so good- albeit a lot noisy at times (hound - duh). He loves having his doggie sister but pulls her hair out and they play loudly...all in good fun. He is good at bedtime, goes to lie down on his blankie when lights are turned off and will sleep till I get up, and will got back to sleep after he eats and goes out. Loves to walk, has decided he likes to PLOP down during our walks in nice patches of grass. Will get up if i say "lets go see" (the kitty or whatever) - his curiosity gets him up ;) he will sometimes chew stuff still, toys don't last long, bones might. he just needs more attention than we can offer. :( i hate to take him to a shelter (aspca) and would much rather know right off he went to a good home.
Yesterday mommy took me for a long car ride, and I didn't even get sick!! And then we saw daddy and when the car stopped i saw all these dogs running around!! I tried to get their attention, but they didn't even look at me. But mommy and daddy let me and sandy out of the car and took us to the dogs.
What fun!!! I got to run around and run and dodge other dogs who tried to have piggy back rides and i ran and ran and got yelled at by little dogs and ran and ran and rolled over and fell down and ran and ran some more. oh it was sooo much fun! i can't wait to go back!
i wasn't even tired by the time we got home. And i didn't get sick in the car ride home. mommy was very happy about that she said.
can anybody open a dog park near our house? The neighbors let me play in their yard today with ally their dog but she gets tired faster than i do.
Today's my birthday!!!! I'm so excited!!! Although I'm always excited, so really it's not much different than any other day.
Mommy got me a bright red collar for my birthday. I think I'm going to chew the end off it that hangs too long. It tickles me. But I do like red. She also got treats for me and Sandy (it's sandy's 1/2 birthday- she's 8 1/2 today) but I ate sandy's treat. Mommy was silly and tried to grab it from me, but i was quicker, um, maybe as quick, and she let go. and yelled and jumped around shaking her finger. I ran under the dining room table and ate my treat. What a great day. Mommy still loves me :) i only grabbed my treat, her finger was in the way. didn't even bleed.
Last night I found something on the counter. It smelled interesting, but I couldn't taste it. I took it into my house to investigate it properly and eat it, because that's where I always eat. Mommy heard the noise I guess, because she came over and tried taking it away from me, but I held on tight!
With mommy pulling one end and me pulling the other, we got the funny stuff (mommy said it was plastic) off the crunchy goodness inside. The fortune cookie broke all over, so me and Sandy got to eat it.
Mommy took the little piece of paper before I could eat that though. (I got a corner of it- ha!!) After she looked at it she groaned, but then started laughing. Then she showed it to Oma and Daddy and they started laughing too.
My fortune was "Be prepared for extra energy." I don't know what else they would expect from me.
