A long time.

I haven't written in a long time. Mom just forgets to log me on for the most part. New news, mom and I might be moving to Charleston Wv. the place she is looking at is less than a mile from the dog park we go to down there and there is even a doggy daycare center for me to go to while she's at school or work. I'm really excited but at the same time I'm not sure. I've always lived in this small town where I have a yard and plenty of room to do whatever. What if I'm not a good city dog? The building has some grass outside but there is no chance I could go out off leash like I do here. It's on the corner of two busy streets. Idk. We'll see.

Friends! and a new swimming hole.

so last week Mom took me and my fur-cousin Angel to Cedar Lakes but we didn't go where we normally go. We went down the hill past the lake instead of up it. I was super confused, but then a girl Mom knows showed up. This new girl had two, count 'em TWO, new doggy friends for me to play with. They're two girl hound mixes names Roxie and Cally. I was ready to go play! I was so busy trying to play with Roxie and Cally that I didn't notice when Cami and her dog Miley showed up. After everyone had used the bathroom and finished talking (humans can talk forever) we went for a short walk and ended up nst to a really wide creek. It was awesome it had a really deep hole that the big dogs could swim in and a bunch of shallow sand bars for me to play on. Mom didn't even make me wear my life jacket, and all us doggies got to play OFF LEASH! I love being off leash with other dogs. Mom said we will try and go play in the swimming hole with the other dogs once a week. She even said we might invite more people and their dogs as long as they are well behaved. Got to go Moms making home made frosty paws! YUM!

Today I was looking at random stuff on the internet and came across this list. It made me smile so I thought I would share it with you.

Things we can learn from our dogs.
-Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joy ride.
-Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy.
-When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.
-When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them gently.
-When it's in your best interest, practice obedience.
-Let others know when they've invaded your territory.
-Take naps, and stretch before rising.
-Run, romp and play daily.
-Eat with gusto and enthusiasm.
-Be loyal.
-Never pretend to be something you're not.
-If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.
-Thrive on attention, and let people touch you.
-Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.
-On hot days, drink lots of water and Lie under a shady tree.
-When you're happy, dance around And wag your entire body.
-No matter how often you're scolded, don't buy into the guilt thing and pout run right back and make friends.
-Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.

I have to jump over the highest bar without touching it. It's going to be so much fun. Shes building me another jump tonight and something called a teeter tomorrow but it wont be ready for a few days. This pup is suuuuuuper excited. =D

Spring is here!

Yay spring is here spring is here! I'm so excited. The sun is shining, the grass is green, and mom will take me hiking again. Did I mention that I get to go to the dog park on the weekends now too. It's a bit of a drive but I don't mind because I get to play with a bunch of new doggies. Mom and I have been making whole day trips to charleston. We go to the dog park, petsmart, and the parks. You'll never guess what mom made for me... a backpack! I've only worn it a couple times when we went hiking but now I know when mom gets my pack out we are more than likely going to go hiking at some point in the day. There are even a few trails that mom doesn't make me wear a leash. I mean... as long as I listen. I carry my own water, bowl, potty bags, a toy, and a short leash. Mom carries the treats. I'm not allowed to carry them because I try to get them out. I think mom is planning on a few camping trips this spring/summer and a couple day trips to beech fork lake to go canoeing and swimming. She really wants to go check out lake alma in ohio. It has its own dog park connected to the lake. Its supposed to get up to 87 on friday! Oh boy oh boy oh boy!!!!!!!

A little bit sick.

Mom doesn't know what I got into but I got sick last night. I pottied all over her bedroom rug and I threw up on it too. I was worried that she would be mad at me but she wasn't. I did get a dose of nasty pink stuff though. I'm trying to think of everything I had yesterday but none of the stuff I had could have made me sick. Here is what I have so far; my regular dog food, a dog cookie, some peanut butter, a small piece of chicken that grandma snuck to me, water, some grass, a cheese-it, and a chewie. It wasn't the grass. I eat grass all the time. Actually I eat everything on that list at least once a week. I don't know. Mom said she is taking me to the vet tomorrow. They were booked up today.

I've noticed that I only write in this diary when I get sick. ...I'm going to have to talk to mom about that.

I'm allergic to grass. It's a contact allergy so all those time I drug my belly across the grass I was making it worse. Mom picked me up from Grandmas house today and we went to the park to hang out with Miley. She is a chocolate lab. I ran, barked, chased squirrels, and ..... rubbed my belly on the grass. When we got home Mom saw how red my belly was and called Grandma to ask if I had been into anything, I hadn't of course. She made a list of everything I did today after she picked me up and narrowed it down to grass. It itched so much it hurt. Mom tried to wipe my belly down with a wet washcloth but it stung. I cried and whined. Finally Mom put me in the bathtub and just washed me with baby shampoo. I got a dose of benadryl too. The rash and pain have gone down considerably.
Mom said that I have to go see Dr. Gentry tomorrow. I hate going there. It's never any fun and they make me sit still and poke me with stuff. I'm really tired right now though so I'm going to go crawl in bed with mom and call it a night. Happy howl-o-ween everybody.

I can't stop itching. I have flea allergies or so my vet says but I don't have any fleas. Mom has tried almost everything. She stopped bathing me. I didn't have a bath for almost two whole months! When that didn't help you can bet your sweet biscuits she washed all the stink off of me. She took me back to the vet and they said to give me children's benadryl when I was itching the worst and to switch my food. Mom found some really good food called Taste of the Wild. It doesn't have any wheat, corn, or soy. No chicken either so if it's a protein allergy it'll stop. It tastes really good. The benadryl is terrible. The itching hasn't stopped yet but the vet did say that it would take a while to see a great amount of improvement.
