Bio: Socks was a late neighbor's dog. She's been breaking away and coming to our house for the past dozen years, where we cared for her as one of our own and gave her all the love and care she didn't get at home. Her owner passed away on August 19, 2008 and the family decided the best place for Socks to spend her golden years was with us, since she was already so much a part of our family and we loved her dearly. We couldn't be happier to be able to give her a life full of comfort and love for as long as she lives. She's the gentlest, sweetest dog and was our beloved, once in a lifetime dog "Buddy's" best friend. Buddy went to the Raiinbow Bridge on October 1, 2005, but Socks continued to come to us. Having her here with us now is a loving connection to our angel, Buddy, who we will love with all our hearts forever. She's our special girl now!

Well, after a five month break from working on our page, Mom finally put some new picture of us on it...mainly to show how well our Daddy has recovered from his third heart attack on June 15, 2009. We were all beginning to think Daddy would never get any better...he was so sick for so long and we all missed him so much. But now, it looks like our pack is ok again and we can't thank all of our Dogster pals enough for all the support, cards, phone calls, rosettes and more while Mom was so busy taking care of Daddy! You guys are AWESOME!
July 18-22, 2009 marks the one year anniversary of the journey of some of our dear friends to the Rainbow Bridge and we are dedicating our thoughts this week to them and their families, remembering all to well this week last year:
Remo the Red Turning White (Dogster ID#106064) was a beautiful red Golden Retriever who lived in Chicago with his Mom & Dad and sister "Lucky Lucy" (also a Golden Retriever) and brother WINston XXLP (a beautiful & sweet English Bulldog). Remo's family did all that love could do to save him, but he went to the Bridge with a big, loving smile to his family on July 18th (also his Daddy's birthday...can you imagine!) at 9:00am CST and joined his sister "Honey Bunny" (also a Golden Retriever who'd gone to the Bridge in June 2006, Dogster ID#106060). Many of us who knew Remo & were with his family in spirit during those last weeks will be holding tinfoil stars to the sun at 9:00am CST on Saturday, July 18th. Remo's family is celebrating Remo's life through his diary this week....to remember the joy, not the pain. Our hearts are with them in celebration & remembrance of dear, sweet Remo.
Snoopy was a little Boston Terrior (Dogster ID#608755) in Kentucky who was pregnant during this week last year. On July 22nd, 2008, Snoopy gave birth to 8 puppies and sadly went to the Bridge shortly after giving birth to the puppies. All of the puppies passed over very soon except two...Blossom & Little Snoopy, who survived for a short time after being born. Blossom succumbed first, but Little Snoopy held on for several weeks, however it was not meant to be and Little Snoopy went to join the others at the Rainbow Bridge. The family did everything possible to save Blossom & Little Snoopy, but their heroic efforts were not in the plan for Little Snoopy. We hope they know we are thinking of them this week and remember all they went through last year. We send our love & comfort to the family.
When we first joined Dogster in March of 2008, it was only Sully and Mom (oh, Socks visited occasionally, but she wasn't in our pack yet).
One of the first friends we made was Sam (Dogster ID#676854) who was fighting cancer with all his might. Sam was funny & sweet and we so enjoyed our time with him until he crossed over the Bridge on June 27, 2008. Sam (in typical upbeat style) said it's so beautiful in Heaven and he was already enjoying himself...it made us happy that he was no longer in pain from the cancer that took him. Sam and his family fought a valiant effort during the last few months, but he finally succumbed and all who knew him were deeply saddened.
Our thoughts this week are with Sam's family...brofur "Charlie" & sistfur "LouLou de Labradoodle" and Mom and we know they have found peace in knowing their beloved Sam is now watching over them.
Sam was very, very dear to us and we were heartbroken at his loss. God gained a very special angel when Sam crossed the bridge!
So...until we meet again...here's to you Angel Sam...we love you!!
