Arrival Story:
It started on a cold and rainy day in my backyard. My family was buring our beloved Cocoa. The pain in my heart was unexplainable, she had died of renal failure. The house was so quiet, so "dead" so unbearable that 2 weeks after the death of Cocoa, we began doing research on the internet about what to look for when purchasing a sheltie. We visited many "back-yard puppy mills" and each time we left I was sick to my stomach. We had bought Cocoa in a pet store, and were told because of her extensive health issues her entire life, she was probably a "puppy-mill" dog. So...we searched and searched. One day I was taking the paper out to the recycling bin and I decided to take a peek and see what I could find. After weeks of searching, there it was...the ad I was looking for (I still say it was a "God Thing", considering I never read this particular paper), anyway it said "Shelties, must complete interview process and sign a contract", this person actually cared about where her puppies were going. We made the call and hurried over to her house. When we got there, she asked us many questions before we even went in...once inside, there was a pile of sleeping puppies...one struck my heart...she was on the bottom of the pile and only her tail was visible...once she was out, I knew she was the one. We signed the contract and took our new baby home. (We still keep in contact with the original owner and trade photos). She was a blessing...the light our home needed. So even though God left me the pain in my heart of losing Cocoa...he also gave me my "Sunshine After The Rain"
