Arrival Story:
We went to drop off donations at the shelter and walked down the "big dog" section. In the last cage, with 5 other rambunctious dogs, sat a little black lab mix with the saddest eyes. We were told that no one had ever taken her out of the cage except for shelter workers (and she had been there for 3 months). She was scheduled to be PTS the following Tuesday... instead she was spayed and came home with us.
Bio:
Lily is a completely different dog than the one we brought home from the shelter. The first couple of days, she hugged the floor and any little noise freaked her out. She was terrified of the cats. But she so desperately wanted to be with us. She would crawl room to room to be with someone. Now she is almost carefree! She still gets a little nervous at new things, but she doesn't completely shut down anymore. She loves her "big brother" Max and adores the kids. She likes the cats, loves car rides. Loves to play and meet new people. She never gives enough kisses (and if you are sitting right, you might even get a hug!) She is my velcro dog.
