Arrival Story:
My fiance and I were looking for a bullmastiff (after researching them for over a year) and the breeder we had our names on their waiting list first had a litter ready when we were moving (bad timing!) and then the litter we were ready to get one from (the next year) had only 5, 2 of which died in the first 3 weeks and the other 3 weren't walking when they should of been. So we had decided to wait for the NEXT litter when I came across a litter outside of Edmonton, Ab. I spoke with the lady who had the litter and the father was a purebred bullmastiff (her vet's dog) and she owned the mom (who had approx 15% staffy in her though looked purebred). She had a litter of 13 pups and after pro and conning things we decided that maybe having a bit of a mix would be a benefit healthwise (we were wrong!). So I flew to Edmonton and picked up our Memphis. Unfortunately at the age of 4 months he was diagnosed with bilateral hip dysplasia.

Bio:
Upon hearing the news of his hip dysplasia (which was noticed when I took him in for a rash on his belly) we put him on raw food. We also started swimming him at a rehab pool once a week, monitoring his exercise a bit more (no dog parks for socialization anymore!), he had monthly acupunture till his surgery in November for gold bead implants. We have not yet neutered him as the vet wanted us to wait till at least 2 so he has his testosterone to help build muscle in his back end.
