Arrival Story:
We went to the pet store looking for a mini pincher and found the tiny scared little pomeranian sitting in the corner of the cage next to her sister. We took her out and held her and she shook so badly. We left the store that evening not having found the dog we went looking for. All during the next week I kept thinking about that little scared puppy that we had seen in the pet store and I told my husband (then fiance) that I wanted to go back and see if she was still there. Low and behold, she was still there waiting for us and looked at us as if to say -- "what took you so long". The rest is history. For the next 12 and 3/4 years she supervised everything we did. She had many medical issues, but through them all she was a trooper and never let it get her down. There will never be another quite like her.

Bio:
Tasha was a tiny girl from the moment we met her. Early in her first year we found out that she had a sensitive digestive system and most foods caused her to have colitis. She was put on medicine and a high fiber prescription food. At 3 years old, she started having siezures. Once we were able to diagnose the problem and get her on a regular regimine of medicine she was fine (with the exception of occasional siezures). In November 2005, before her 11th birthday she was diagnosed with a rare form of lukemia which affected her skin. We were told that there wasn't any treatment to eradicate the disease. We added more pills to her ongoing treatment and also started applying medicinal ointment to treat the skin infections. In late March of 2006 the vet recommended that we shave her to be able to treat her skin more effectively. I don't recommend this -- she spent about a week very depressed and I think she knew that she had lost all of her beautiful hair. From that point on she wore clothes almost all the time. She didn't seem comfortable without them. In the long run it didn't really make that much difference to her skin. Sadly, on the 1st of November 2006, our beloved Tasha gave up her battle. It was one of the worst days of my life. But I know that somewhere in heaven she's watching over us and is happy that we've found our way to help other baby pups. I'm sure she's entertaining God and Jesus and anyone else that she comes across and I know that now she can be free and whole again. I'm thankful to have been blessed to find her and to be able to care for her as long as I did.
