Arrival Story:
After the untimely and unexpected passing of our furkid, Dave, we decided that the house was just too quiet. I had been wanting a Keesie for a long time so a Keeshond was my first choice. After researching them on the web, my hubby was keen on the idea as well, so the hunt started! Keeshond's are not an easy breed to find, especially in the south! After a few months of looking, I finally found a litter that was just a few weeks old, born October 1st, and not too far away. We called the owners and made an appointment to see the little boys (there were 8 boys and 2 girls in this litter). Max wasn't the one that I originally picked out, but he went straight to my husband and love was in bloom! 4 weeks later, we brought our little Max home....
I'd forgotten how much fun it was to have a new puppy in the house, and after losing a shoe, two bras and several socks, we finally had everything puppy proofed! We would confine him to the kitchen in the mornings so the house wouldn't be destroyed, and he would come lay at my feet while I worked in the afternoons. We were still trying to decide on a registered name when one day I came home and little Max was sitting at the door waiting for me - odd, we'd barricaded him in the kitchen, and the barricade was still there! I put him back in the confines of the barricade, and low and behold, he escaped again! What a little magician! We did a little research on the web for the Dutch translation of magician, and came up with his registered name, Maximillian de Tovenaar, or Max the Magician!

My mommy is helping me with this because she says I don't have opposable thumbs so I can't type, but I try sometimes., she thinks I'm cute when I do that. This morning I woke her up wanting her to play with me and my gorilla, then I rolled around on the bed, she thinks that's cute too and always gives me a big bellyrub when I do that so I do it alot. My kitty, Figment, snuck into the room when I wasn't watching and I ran after him, then he chased me! How dare he, doesn't he know I'm the alpha male, silly kitty. .. he's ok, I guess, I woulda rather mom gotten me a girlfriend. Sometimes my mommy and daddy take me out to the country where there's lots of other people who look just like me, it's neat. I like the girls better than the boys, mom says it's because I have all my working parts. I heard her talking to my doctor about something called an operation, but I don't know what that is. I think it's time for my nap now. Thank you for reading
