Bio:
Hi there! I'm Buddy, the shar pei -ish looking dog. That's my mom, Sandy, next to me in the picture. We used to live in a junkyard in Lee County. There were about 30 of us. I didn't feel so good there. All we had to eat were stale donuts and stuff. The neighbors didn't like us and they had guns and were threatening to shoot us. So we were all supposed to go to a scary pound. A lot of rescue groups heard about us, and many people came and tried to get us all out of there. One day I saw my mom leave in a van. I didn't know where she went. And then I got shot with some bb pellets by some kids and I got so scared that I jumped the fence and lived in the woods for a couple of days. I went back to the junkyard hoping to find my mom. I didn't find her but some people took me away. They were so relieved I had come back. The ride was real scary. When I got to Richmond they took the bb pellets out of my neck. And guess what? I FOUND MY MOM!!! Aarf had taken her and they wanted to rescue me too when they found out I was left behind. I was so excited to see her because I had been so scared without her. I heard that she was so scared that she had to be carried everywhere. We went to live in a place where the people were so nice. And they taught us that most people are real friendly. We love to thank them by giving them lots of kisses. And Mom gives the best kisses in the world!

Buddy: Ah, it was nice to get out and stretch our legs

Sandy: Yeah, but you always walk so fast

Buddy: I can't help it. I want to sniff everything.

Sandy: But you can sniff better if you slow down. I'm older than you.

Buddy: I know, Mom. I'll try better next time. But it was a nice walk.

Sandy: Yes, it was. I wish we could have those more often. We''ll have to give extra sad looks next time that girl comes back.

Buddy: Yeah, and I'll whine real sad like. hehehe, that always gets her.

Today was fun!

Hi everyone! I'm Sandy, Buddy's mom. We got sprung from the kennel today for a little while. We went on a nice walk. Its good to get out and stretch my legs and see new things. Buddy spied a cute little orange kitty cat. I don't think he knew what it was. He just stared and stared and it. He's funny. He likes to walk faster than me. He gets so excited to be out like that. He doesn't know what to sniff first. And he almost trips up are two legged friend. I've tried to teach him to walk with more manners, but what can you do? Well, I'm a little worn out from today's adventure but I wanted to pop in and bark hello.

hugs and kisses,
Sandy

A Little Background On Us...

Hi Dogster Gang!

Buddy here. You've already read our bad beginnings. I thought I tell you a little bit about us. First off, we hate being crated, especially at the adoption stands. Its very scary to have strange people coming so close to us. What if one of them wants to hurt us. So we don't let people get to close to us while we are locked up. Luckily, the rescue people take us out a lot. And then we let people come over and meet us. We are both super friendly. We love to cuddle with you as much as possible. And oh my gosh, sleeping in a bed is like heaven. We are both pretty quiet, hardly ever bark. We don't chew your furniture. Although Sandy has developed a passion for landscaping. She'd be great helping you plant trees! But I think she developed her love of nature out of boredom. Its not the kennel's fault. They do the best they can for us. We just want to go beyond the borders, take walks, see whats out there. Do you like to go for walks? We live for them. We love to play with each other and give enormous company to one another while you are away at work. We're already housetrained too. In other words, we're great in a home. We prefer to be inside rather than out in a yard by ourselves. But mostly we love walks, all walks, anywhere, anytime. And we love to go for car rides. A big difference from my first trip up here to Richmond, huh?

I guess thats all for now. Maybe I'll let Momma Sandy talk next time.

Luv,
Buddy
