Not too long ago I read a book about the dead. It said
that as long as there was someone alive to remember
them, they went to another place living out a happy
life waiting for their friends and loved ones to join them.
This weekend, my little man joined them.
Whether the days were light or dark, he was always by
my side and in my heart, and I would not be the person
I am today without him. I only hope to one day be as
good a person as he thought I was.
Remember him well.

Mom's bringing around someone new...and this time she's giving me veto authority. Seems last time she didn't listen to me - I tried to tell her, but when I peed on her pillow she didn't seem to get that I was telling her something. Shoulda known.
So this time, Mom and I had a nice long talk about this new fella...and he offered to come over to meet me before making dinner for her at his house. Well, I could see this was going to be different already - he understands where I am in the food chain around here! And you know what? He turned out to be a really nice guy! He comes over and plays with me and lets me rough house with him, doesn't seem to mind that I snore, and the best part of all, seems to have made Mom really happy. I even run to him when he comes over and I let him think he's got the whole thing figured out!

Over Thanksgiving week, we left New York. I had a miserable time in the car - it was 5 days of panting and restless sleeping...but I'm finally home! My friends took me to my favorite park for a stroll the day after I got back and I was so happy to get back I slept much better that night. My skin even looks better than it did when I left New York - and I want to thank the best vet in the world (and her whole team) for helping me get this far!!
Now we're home and life is getting back to normal.
I get lots of walks and lots of petting and there are lots of neighbors in the building with whom I can play. Mom's even got some new friends who might come over to play with me. I'm so very happy again.
