 Quick Bio:
Likes: Running fast, cuddling, and going on the bus! Hiding Colin's socks is a fun game, too.

Pet-Peeves: Road salt on my paws and mornings when it's too cold to swim.

Favorite Toy: Empty water bottles.

Favorite Food: Beef heart, strawberries, sweets (if I can convince someone to give me some), and spicy food!

Favorite Walk: Down along the river, where there are lots of bugs!! Now it is flooded so it's more like a swim.

Best Tricks: Keeping Mom out of danger (lots of ways) and getting help in case of a problem. Also telling Mom to sleep every night (otherwise she'll forget to stop working and get sick). I am learning lots more, and also I am really good at catch!

Arrival Story: I had tentatively chosen Tesla out of the eight females in her litter when she was three weeks old. By the time I went back to pick her up, the breeder had decided to keep her. I tested some of the other puppies, but they were all too hyperactive or inattentive. Tesla, on the other hand, is very calm and confident. After a while, the breeder allowed me to keep Tesla, although she was very reluctant to give her up! She slept most of the way home, waking up only to pee on my boyfriend's carpet, with a victoriuous look on her face.

Bio: I am being trained as a Service dog with tasks in medical alert and response, along with some other useful tasks for special situations.

Yesterday Spirit was celebrating her 2nd anniversary with Mom's friend, and we got asked to come along!
I had already been working all morning, going to different stores and stuff, when we met up with Spirit. To celebrate, she got to make a build - a - bear (even though it was not a bear it was a DOG with a vest for working).
The line was really long and it took us an hour and a half to finish, but Spirit and I stood in line the whole time! Mom says she is happy because she would never stand in line that long usually, and I have to practice doing boring stuff.
There were kids all over the place, and lots of them stepped over me but I knew it was ok. And there was a loud loud bell that I didn't like very much at first, but then I realized it was not so bad.
First Spirit picked out one of the dog stuffies. They were already pre - killed! No shaking or tearing required! But after that she got to push on a button that filled it up with fluff again.
The people in there liked us a lot, except the store lady got mad when Spirit went to pay. She said that dogs were not allowed to put their paws on the counter! Well how else was Spirit supposed to reach the cashier to hand her the money card? Silly lady, she is wrong. That is part of Spirit's job!
There were other celebrations there, too. Before Spirit arrived, there was a party with little girls and some of them were in wheelchairs and other ones had crutches. They got really excited to see me and one of them told Mom about how she is going to have a Service dog when she grows up and she is going to name it Lisa.
It was a fun celebration and I was really happy that I got invited.

This morning it was warm. The snow was drippy, and Mom only had to wear a sweatshirt on our walk. Also I saw some geese coming back from their winter vacation!
I told Mom it was time for swimming, but she said I had to wait until after her classes so I wouldn't be all wet during lectures.
Finally after lunch, we went to the river. Mom took off her boots and rolled up her pants and walked in the water. She must have decided it was warm enough for me to swim, because she told me it was ok!
I ran around in the water and I even attacked a clump of snow that fell off the shore and landed in the river. I pushed it underwater and made it melt! I swam out pretty far to get a goose, but they all flew away before I even got there.
Then we went home and I got a nice warm bath and slept ALL afternoon.

Yesterday and today it was so much warmer than usual, wet rain even started to fall and make a crusty top on the snow! It is so nice, I even decided to wade in the river. It's still kind of cold for swimming, though. Mom says no swimming for a while yet, because I might get too cold, even though I don't mind because I love the water.
I am good and I listen to her when she says to get out of the river, even though I KNOW other vizslas who have hunting jobs get to swim when it's cold out. My friend at the dog park said so, and she hunts ducks so I know it is true.
