   Leave a bone for Bella

Chewbacca, Bella Beast, BB, Beast, Beebs, Justin Beebers

Doggie Dynamics:
not playfulvery playful

Quick Bio:
-mutt-pound dog

December 30th 2004

Affection! She's a total lap dog.

Getting a time out.

Favorite Toy:
None so far.

Favorite Food:
Soft foods, crayons, anything she finds on the floor. Or anything inadvertently left on the table if no one is looking!

Favorite Walk:
Fort Funston with the pack!

Best Tricks:
Surprisingly high vertical leaps for such a small dog. On her second day home, she leapt over a baby gate! Goose, our 65 pound Lab, never even tested the gate, though she could probably push it over. Bella is an escape artist!

Arrival Story:
We adopted Bella from the San Francisco SPCA.

Bella had a broken jaw when she arrived at the shelter. Despite her history, she is very sweet to everyone she meets. Bella was under socialized to dogs, but has made a lot of progress on that front! This is largely due to the *true* dog whisperer, her walker/trainer Dianne from Dogmasf. She patiently introduced Bella to new dogs and worked her up to going on outings with the pack! In only 2 months, she has completely changed in her reaction to other dogs! Instead of barking and lunging at every dog she saw, she sniffs and plays with them! Her terrier roots are very strong. She obsesses about critters in the back yard and patrols endlessly to let them know a new sheriff is in town!

Oh dear, the jig is up! I have maintained my Houdini ways. My backyard is rather small, patio, deck and mountainous bank. I discovered a breach in the ivy above the fence and have been sneaking through to the neighbors' yard for quite some time. Very harmless, really, I just like to visit! My family recently figured it out when I came bursting through the little hole in the ivy! The neighbor is quite nice, she enjoyed my company and didn't squeal on me, but did admit I had been visiting when asked. Dang! I think the family is going to patch the hole. What other trouble can I get into????

I have a new look! The moptop was ok, but a bit hard to see. I realize that I now look like one of the Bay City Rollers with my new mullet, but a gal has to keep updating her style! Who knew my ears were short and perky?! The long ear hair held them down and they got in the food. Ewww. Still gets in the beard, but Rome wasn't built in a day! I know the family loves it when I come up to them after breakfast and burp in their face! I am a little rough around the edges, but learning some manners.

I will not be contained! I am settling right in at my new home. I have not yet been able to train my new family about my freedom! Goose, my big sister, is an amateur! She has let them lock her in the kitchen when they are out with a measly little baby gate lo, these many years. I was able to breach the security the first time they tried that with me! So what do they do? Get a taller gate! Silly family, I will not be deterred in my quest to have the run of the house! When they came back home, I was there to meet them at the front door! Goose was still trapped in the kitchen. I managed to push the gate and squeeze out. What are they gonna do? Get an extension to the gate? Hey, what's that big box in the entry way? Next thing you know, they will insist I only go potty outside.....Oh, maybe that's why I'm in the crate at night!
