Wow, pups! 3 years ago, on Leap Day 2008, I came here to my forever home. Looking back makes me (and mom!) realize how far I've come! I was a puppy mill rescue and didn't trust ANYONE, BOL! It took me a few weeks just to go near mom. I bit her several times, I'm sorry to say (now :) ) I hid under the table until everyone left the room, then would crawl on my belly to my bowl, totally scared the entire time. I'm still a little jumpy, but who can blame a pup?? But, when mom says 'come eat', you can bet I'm running to my bowl - I have to, if I don't eat all my food up, Rosie will. She goes around licking everyone's bowl when they're done. EEWWW!!
I'm in a great forever home, mom loves, loves, loves her little Bug, the others are okay as sisters go. When we lost The Princess last year, we were all pretty sad. Then Rosie came to live with us, and mom said her joy was back. She's small like Twiggy was, but she's no princess, BOL!! She and I have a lot of fun playing and taking toys from one another. I snap at her every now and then (I can't help myself - it's the hypothyroidism. That's my story and I'm not changing it!), but Rosie doesn't let it bother her one bit. She snaps right back, pups!
I pretty much had the whole seizure thing under control until last week. The pharmacy where mom gets my thyroid meds switched brands and gave mom generic pills. It only took a week, and I passed out again. I was having so much fun outside - it was the first time we were able to play outside in 3 months! I was chasing the other chi-girls, and zooming Lily when I started coughing and out I went! Mom scooped me up, brought me inside and was able to get me to respond, but I threw up the Nutri-Cal. She didn't have Haagen-Daas anymore since I hadn't passed out in two years, so she gave me cake, pups!! WOOHOO! I like cake. So, another round of tests at Dr. Ashley's office and the levels were normal. However, mom says Dr. Ashley only did the T-3 tests, and not the T-6 tests like mom thought she would. Mom says she may ask for that when I go for my annuals this month. Uh-oh.
Well, it's late and I'm worn out - I've been throwing Mildred around and fighting with her most of the night. She's a foot-long loofa dog, twice my size, but I don't let that stop me! I beat her up every time, BOL!

Two years ago, on Leap Day 2008, I came to live with mom and my sisters! So, it's my second gotcha day - sometime between 12:00 and 12:01 tonight! Mom says we can celebrate both today and tomorrow - is she a good mom or what??? And, she put my pic in the March issue of Chihuahua Connection, so I'm watching the mail lady daily to see if it has come in. I'll be famous!!
I think I'm getting better with my behaviour issues - I don't run and hide as much as I used to. Lily and I have been at each other's throats (literally) this week, and mom is concerned. She doesn't know that it's a Chiwawa Sisterhood creed that what happens while mom is at work stays between us Chi's! We'll work it out eventually.
I haven't had a seizure since May 17, 2009 ( I hope that doesn't jinx me! specially since it's a full moon this weekend!) I go in March for my annuals and my thyroid level checkups so here's hoping I get a clean bill of health!
In January, we lost The Princess, and mom took it real hard. She's getting better, but we can tell she gets real sad sometimes and her eyes leak. I do my best to be the clown dog and make her smile. She was reading an article to us about wolves the other night and the article said the omega dogs in the packs were the clown dogs, so now she calls me her little omega! I guess that's a good thing, right?
So, I'm trying to decide what I want for my gotcha day meal - and since I get two meals I'm having a real hard time narrowing it down. Mom mentioned something about chicken tonight, but we get that all the time. When she said 'steak and eggs' Daisy's ears perked up , so I think that must be REAL good cause Daisy knows her food. I think that's what I want tonight - gotta go tell mom so she can start getting it ready!

Hello, Pups and Peeps! We haven't talked this year, so Happy New Year! Mom was spending all her spare time taking care of the Princess then she hurt her back again, and we just haven't had time to play on the computer. I hope all of your holidays were merry and bright!
Now, mom says I have to write this in my diary so we can keep up with them. I had another seizure yesterday. Yep, passed right out. And my tongue was PURPLE!! Mom scooped me right up and laid me on the couch and started massaging my chest. This time was only about 30 seconds - I think that's cause mom grabbed me so quickly. Dr. Ashley says I have to come in for more tests so they can check my thryoid levels. So, we'll go see her Monday afternoon. Mom wants to find out why my tongue turned such a lovely color of purple. It's her favorite color, but not on my tongue! She said she's been waiting for this because I've been acting odd for a few weeks. She really thought I would have one when there was a full moon since all my other seizures occured on a full moon day. It freaks mom out when I walk into the room with my tongue darting in and out, and I look at her like I have no earthly idea who she is :) I like freaking mom out!

We want to apologize for not keeping our diary's up to date. My way OLDER sister, Twiggy, had a seizure Sunday morning, and not one like mine. Her's was the falling down, shaking, head and leg twisting kind and she's not doing so well. We're all real worried about her cause she's so old. She went to see Dr. Ashley Monday, and her clinicals are excellent - kidney levels are the best they've ever been. But, we think her sight has been compromised and she hurt herself cause she won't walk and mom has to feed her Dog-sure with a spoon. Please join us in prayer that she comes out of this okay.

In honor of my big sister's birthday, we have the time appropriate Snoopy vs Red Baron!! Daisy thinks Snoopy is hot - but he's got competition from Uno and Underdog! Happy Woofday, Daisy!!
SNOOPY AND THE RED BARON
The news had come out in the First World War
The bloody Red Baron was flying once more
The Allied command ignored all of its men
And called on Snoopy to do it again.
Twas the night before Christmas, 40 below
When Snoopy went up in search of his foe
He spied the Red Baron, fiercely they fought
With ice on his wings Snoopy knew he was caught.
Christmas bells those Christmas bells
Ring out from the land
Asking peace of all the world
And good will to man
The Baron had Snoopy dead in his sights
He reached for the trigger to pull it up tight
Why he didn't shoot, well, we'll never know
Or was it the bells from the village below.
Christmas bells those Christmas bells
Ringing through the land
Bringing peace to all the world
And good will to man
The Baron made Snoopy fly to the Rhine
And forced him to land behind the enemy lines
Snoopy was certain that this was the end
When the Baron cried out, "Merry Christmas, my friend"
The Baron then offered a holiday toast
And Snoopy, our hero, saluted his host
And then with a roar they were both on their way
Each knowing they'd meet on some other day.
Christmas bells those Christmas bells
Ringing through the land
Bringing peace to all the world
And good will to man
Christmas bells those Christmas bells
Ringing through the land
Bringing peace to all the world
And good will to man

OOPS! We did that one already - here's another...
"Dogs have given us their absolute all. We are the center of ther universe. We are the focus of their love and faith and trust. They serve us in return for scraps. It is without a doubt the best deal man has ever made." - Roger Caras
(Sorry, pups and peeps. I tell mom if you name it 'daily' quote, it should be done EVERY day! I'll make sure she keeps up from now on!)

In honor of my big sister Lily's birthday, the quote of the day is her theme song. So warm up those pipes, pups and peeps and sing along!
Born to be Wild (Steppenwolf, 1968)
Words and music by Mars Bonfire
Get your motor runnin'
Head out on the highway
Lookin' for adventure
And whatever comes our way
Yeah Darlin' go make it happen
Take the world in a love embrace
Fire all of your guns at once
And explode into space
I like smoke and lightning
Heavy metal thunder
Racin' with the wind
And the feelin' that I'm under
Yeah Darlin' go make it happen
Take the world in a love embrace
Fire all of your guns at once
And explode into space
Like a true nature's child
We were born, born to be wild
We can climb so high
I never wanna die
Born to be wild
Born to be wild
Woohoo!

Woohoo! My pal, Yuji, from way up in New York tagged me! Here's what I have to do:
Tell 7 unexpected things about me, then tag 7 more doggies...so here goes:
1.I have hypothyroidism and pass out if I don’t take my medication
2.I was almost drowned in the river near here – who would want to drown a cute little bug like me?
3.I am the master Kong treat finder! It takes me less than two minutes to get my treats out – and mom buries them WAY down in there!
4.I can hide in the bestest places and mom can never find me!
5.My dew claws on my back legs stick out like thumbs – hehe!
6.When I run my ears flop up and down
7.Yogurt or cottage cheese make me sick as a dog! Wait, I am a dog…
Okay, now I tag the following:
Mr. Coolness - Peanutty
Darling Tico el Bandito
Beautiful Darci, my NOLA pal
My BF, Oscar
My Colorado pal, Ciano
My Florida pal, Daisy
And, my new pal from across the pond, Bambi
Have fun y’all!
Quote for the day:
"Dogs feel very strongly that they should always go with you in the car, in case the need should arise for them to bark violently at nothing right in your ear." - Dave Barry
