With permission from my wonderful parents, I adopted my vivacious Aussie dog from a farm in Hastings as my 11th birthday present in 2003. I'm proud to say that it was the best day of my entire life! :)

Bio:
When I first got Ginger I didn't expect her strong herding instincts to take action. But, after my pup became more accustomed to me and my family she began to utilize her strong herding instincts on me and my siblings. Knowing I needed to allow her to exert her extreme energy, I discovered dog agility and thought that it would be an excellent way for her to use her energy. I soon began training her on a little 2" jump in the garage made out of a couple blocks and a ski pole. Not long after that, about a year later, I soon had a homemade course set up in the back yard on which we persistently trained and still train each day. I learned how to train Ginger for agility by observing other trainers/handlers on Animal Planet etc. and applied their handling skills to our training. Although I didn't plan on trialling with Ginger at first, I soon became very interested in it and went through a couple of local obedience and agility schools so I could socialize her. Finally after numerous amounts of training etc. we began successfully competing in local NADAC trials. So far Ginger has earned a few titles; NAC, O-NAC, OAC, NJC, O-NJC, WV-N, O-WV-N, S-WV-N, TN-N, O-TN-N, S-TN-N, TG-N, O-TG-N, TG-O, HP-N, NCC, & O-NCC. I know that I still have a ways to go with training and socializing Ginger but I enjoy every minute of it because it gives me a goal to achieve. :) In addition to Ginger's bio: Ginger enjoys agility, eating peanut butter, being with me, taking long walks, and protecting our family. -Emily
