He "talks" sort of yodels or howls or bays when he wants to communicate.

Arrival Story:
He was a rescue dog. In fact Aggie actually chose his rescue family. He lived next door and was really neglected. He lived out on the patio of the neglectful owners and was not fed. He jumped into the neighbors backyard where there were two dogs. This family started to feed him and let Aggie stay with them all day. Each day they would take him back to his home. One day Aggie refused to go to the neglectful owners home. The family that rescued him kept him until they could find him a good home. At our house he is one of the family. We love him dearly and he is a loyal and fun friend.

Bio:
We were Aggies fourth family in eight months. He has never had any formal training, but understands what we want him to do and is always well behaved. With one exception: he doesn't like cats.

Agamemnon Saved Me

One bright Sunday morning while walking; Agamemnon and I were attacked by three marauding German Shepherds. The two main attackers were 100 pounders and Agamemnon is 70 pounds. It was very scary but amazingly Ags was able to fight them off. The attackers came from a house that only fed the dogs and provided nothing else. I suppose that explains some of it. Ags did have to have a bite wound taken care of by his Vet. The attackers were picked up by animal control and two were put down since this wasn't the first time they had attacked. The third was adopted out to a rescue group that hopes to rehabilitate the dog.
Ags has been protective and even more loyal since this attack. Any time he senses something may turn he gets in "position". His position to protect is that he puts himself in between me and the person or dog that he his not to sure of. Basically, it's the wall of Agamemnon. He does this all very calmly and casually since half the time I don't realize that he has put himself in between myself and the danger. He rarely leaves my side. Which is funny since my husband is his favorite. I suppose Agamemnon thinks he has a job to do as my personal body guard. For such a carefree, fun loving, friendly character this strikes as so serious. But he is still a jokester at heart!

Well now it's official I am a Boxer, Border Collie, Sheltie, and lots of other breeds dog. The primary breed is Boxer. We already knew that since his rescue family knows Aggie's mother and she was a Boxer.

What has Agamemnon Been Up To?

Since the last post Agamemnon has had a busy schedule. First he sleeps alot, plays alot, walks alot, and generally hangs out. Wow, what a life.

He was falsely accused at the local Petsmart of accidentally biting another dog during day camp. This was a particularly bad time for Ag and his family. Petsmart would never show us the video and the story of what happened that day changed three times. Needless to say, Ag's family decided that the reason for not showing the video was that it must have shown something Petsmart mgt didn't want us to see. Something like unsupervised dogs or that Agamemnon was not to blame. The bottom line was Ag's family paid $350 for one stitch and some antibiotics for the other dog. Petsmarts said Agamemnon was always welcome at Petsmart and hoped to see him soon. Wow, we were shocked by whole encounter and never seen any aggressive behavior on Agamemnon's part.

So, now he goes to Camp Bow Wow, where Agamemnon's family can watch him on the Camp Bow Wow webcam from our home computer. In addition, Agamemnon is walked by the twins who have walked our dogs since the twins were 12 years old (they are now 18). The twins love Agamemnon and report he is the best behaved of the 20 dogs they walk each week.
