Arrival Story:
Well for starters, we had owned a "pain in the butt" Dachshund named Peanut. He didn't like the males in the household including my father, my little bro, & I. Peanut would just bark at us, dont know why. We had him for a couple of months until the day he ran away. An old lady found him & rescued him from the pound. Not knowing that Peanut had owners, she had taken the "Sexist" Dachshund under her own wing. Later on, in the evening, I've called the dog pound to see if they found Peanut. They told us an old lady found him already & had paid for him. We were sad but in a way...it was good that Peanut was better off with an female guardian. The next couple of days my father, bro, sis & I had gone to the dog pound looking for a dog. My lil sis suggested for a poodle but they didnt have one. One of us had mentioned a weiner dog & one of the workers there said they have one. He showed us the way & there he was.....Shorty. The first moment we saw him....he was sooo cute! He was wagging his tail & smiling. We asked the workers if he had a named already. They said no, not until Shorty came to the dog pound & the people there had given him that name. The worker had also told us that Shorty was with them for about 3 months and Shorty had about 2-3 days left until he would have been put to sleep. My family & I were so glad to get a beautiful doxie like Shorty and save his life at the same time. Yup....thats it. ^_^
