Arrival Story: Jake is a death row rescue boy. Turned into the shelter for being sick.

Bio: Jake is one wonderful rescue dog.
At the age of "estimated" eight years, he's a dream Cattle dog.
He's on the mellow side, very respectful has excellent manners.
Jake knows all the "commands", is ready and quite capable of working towards his Novice Rally Obedience.
What a "gentleman" he is ... walks behind you up and down stairs, waits to be allowed outside and come inside.
He loves to play fetch. Always brings the ball back to you and places it exactly between your feet. If it rolls away, Jake makes sure to re-place it in the correct position.
He's has never ever tried to grab the ball out of your hand. Super sweet with younger children, 5+ years old who are dog savvy. Also very well suited for a more mature home ... looking for a loving companion.
He has lots of stamina for ball fetching, walks or runs, conserves his energy and can go forever at a medium pace.
Jake's health is excellent, all up to date as of November on vaccinations.
He has no bad habits. Doesn't dig, chew or destroy anything. Can be safely left at home loose in the house or he's quite comfortable being in his den (crate) when you have to leave or go to work.
Further update:
Jake did find a new wonderful home a few months ago. So pleased to get away from the other family furkids ... that he felt he needed to control ... no playing in the house bark bark bark!
Enjoying his life and and the special attention he gets.
However, sadly he was just recently diagnosed with a very aggressive Osteosarcoma ... Bone Cancer.
He has but a couple of months of pain management before it will be time to walk over the Rainbow Bridge.
Everyone that knows him is as sad and devastated as can be.
UPDATE:
Jake took his last walk over the Rainbow Bridge 10/24/08
He was so loved and will be so missed. Jake always had such a wonderful way of connecting with people. Even through the tears, there will always be a smile, a smile to remember how he touched so many hearts.
Thanks for looking and reading about Jake
