Favorite Toy: All of them. His Nylabone. Anything Stella has in her mouth.
Favorite Food: Everything! He was in starvation mode when he was found. He is a little food thief. He has to be watched closely. He has eaten a rubber super ball and most recently... quarters. I now have a canine slot machine. Come on over and pull his tail.
Favorite Walk: Rudy doesnt like to go places. Leaving home scares him. We're working on that. He's getting better. He loves to run around the back yard at top speed and bark like a maniac, tho'.
Best Tricks: We are working on that.... he's a slow learner.
Arrival Story: Rudy was found in the middle of a very busy street. He plopped himself down in front of a school bus and wouldn't move. He was starving, (literally, his ribs were protruding and he was drinking his own urine and eating his own feces) suffering from hypothermia and terrified. The vet said he had to have been on his own for at least a month and suspected abuse prior to that. He ended up going through 4 foster homes over a period of 8 weeks which resulted in major separation anxiety issues. Not at all aggressive, he is a very friendly and lovable boy... once he warms up to you. He is very scared of people and of cars/traffic. He is definitely a 'problem child' and has a lot of issues he is working through... but as difficult as he is to train John and I decided that the poor fella has been through enough and are in it with him for the long haul. He isnt very bright, and he's stubborn as hell... and all he wants is love. He's getting it.
