Dog Tired

I'm pooped out today. A nice lady who volunteers with Aarf, came by the kennel and took me for a great walk. And then my friend came by and got me for our weekly adventure. I got to torment her doggies again! But I also met this real neat Irish Setter. He's like 9 years old! He was so much fun to play with. And then we went to this other place. And I met a real life timber wolf. She was so cool. She whimpered when she saw me and we had never even met!! But she was as excited as I was to play. But wow, I got tired quick. I met several dogs including a mastiff in heat. I was a teensy weensy bit afraid of her because DANG she's big! But she was very nice and not crabby at all. I know I'd be crabby if I were in heat. By the time we got back to the kennel, I was too tired to trash talk with the other dogs on the way in. So, night night.

Dog Tired

Fun on Adoption days

Yesterday I met lots of new doggies. My foster friend has a lot of faith in me that I won't beat up every dog I see. And guess what, I got to play with a pitbull girl. We had so much fun wrestling. I lost most of the matches. I won only one when I sat on her. Hehehe. I was so tired. But everyone said it was much more fun watching us play than watching tv! I wish I could find a home with a fun four legged friend to play with. That would be a blast!

Woohoo!

I made a new friend!! Her name is Tixie and she's a German Shepherd mix who's younger than me. She's also up for adoption through Aarf. We are having a blast playing together at the kennel. She's got almost as much energy as I do. I'm so happy. I'd still rather be in a home, but its sooo nice to finally have a friend to play with while I'm waiting. :)

A Little About My History....

Dear Dogster friends,

Hi out there! I'm Polly. I came from a local shelter when I was about 6 months old. I lived in a kennel for a while and had lots of puppy friends. Every Saturday was adoption day and I made sure that I was one of the ones that was taken. I would shout and yell and sometimes scream to get their attention. I knew it was Saturday and they knew I knew it was Saturday. I had a boy friend who did the same thing. It worked! Because we went just about every Saturday! :) And who could resist our gorgeous faces.

Things weren't always so fun there at the kennel though. A dog in the next yard liked the taste of my ear a little too much; so she ate it! Ouch! But don't worry, it hasn't slowed me down at all.

I've been in several different homes. I liked the first one a lot because he took me rollerblading for miles. You see, I'm kind of active, so I like to do active stuff. But he had a small dachshund that I sometimes got into arguments with. My next home was pretty nice too. There was another four legger my size and a little girl to play with. And my mom and dad practiced something called NILIF with me. They said I did really good with that kind of training. But I saw a small four legger next door and sometimes he'd make fun of me and call me names. One day I saw my chance to go punch his lights out when the front door was left open. But I didn't even get to slap him around before mom grabbed me. Shoot! So, back into the kennel I went...

I wasn't at the kennel for too long before I went to another home. At first things started out okay. The kids were real nice and I lived indoors. But soon this man came and he beat up the kids and some people came in and took the kids away. The man put me on a small chain outside in the freezing cold. I was never allowed back inside anymore. I was so cold and I'd try to squeeze into the smallest ball I could to try and keep warm. One day, a neighbor couldn't stand seeing me so miserable and she got me some help. She called my rescue up and told me how she had found me. That very same night, my human friends came and got me! I was so happy to see them!! They told me that I would never have to live outside on a chain ever again.

But I'm back at a kennel again. *sigh* The people there are really nice to me. And I get to sleep in their bed with them at night. I don't get to play with too many dogs though because I can get a little rough. I can't help being a tomboy! But every now and then someone springs me from the kennel and I get to go for a fun walk or to someone's home and visit their crazy dogs. Its fun there. I wish I could stay with them. (Thats one of the nutty dogs in the video, barking his fool head off. He's silly.)

I love sleeping next to you on the couch or in your bed. And I love to chase things and play tug-o-war and rough house. I'm very gentle with kids. And I love to give you hugs.

So thats me in a nutshell. I'm a very outgoing fun-loving gal looking for an active fun loving type family with a 6 foot fence. If you're out there, please give me a holler. :)
