Arrival Story:
Angel was found curled up in a ball and covered in snow at the animal shelter I worked at part time. The wind chill was below O that night and we had a couple inches of snow. The workers took her inside and tried to get her warmed up. She wasn't afraid of anyone and just wanted some attention. When they put her in a kennel tho, she started making a horrible noise that wasn't a bark or a whine. It was more like a very loud squeek so they named her Squeekers. I spent time with her that 1st weekend and she was so sweet. Anything bad that may have happened to her was forgotten and she just wanted to be with people, sit on laps and be petted. There were 4 different people that put in applications for her and each was denied for various reasons. When she was still there the next weekend I took her home for the night to give her a break from the noise. OK, give the other dogs a break from the terrible noise she was making. She made herself at home right away. She also made friends with the other dogs. Of course she acted like she'd always lived here. I did take her back the next day and told everyone if a good family comes in then she's their's. No one even looked at her but me all day so here she is laying at my feet. She only gets covered in snow now when she's outside playing and she knows that there is a warm place for her forever.

Bio:
Angel went to the vet right away for a checkup after I adopted her. The vet said he recognized her as a dog someone brought in to be put to sleep because they didn't want her anymore. He refused to do it because she was a young, healthy puppy. Thank God they didn't find anyone that would.
