Arrival Story: My then boyfriend and I went to get a dog for my Valentine's Day present in 2001, and we went to Taylor, Texas to meet a schnauzer in the care of a nice lady named Tacie, to see if we could find one. When we came to meet the dogs, all the schnauzers we saw were taken except the one we came to meet... and that dog, who we were warned was tempermental, bit my boyfriend! Despite this incident, we stayed and played with the dogs, and were constantly being nuzzled by a strange little white dog who looked more like a sheepdog than a schnauzer. We had already decided that the original dog we met was not a good match, and were considering leaving without a dog. Tacie offered us the little white dog, and though I had some misgivings we took her home, because I wasn't sure she was all schnauzer. On the way home, I sat in the back of the car with my hand in the dog crate we brought with us, and we bantered about names. Jonathan came up with the name Chloe, because he said all my choices were too harsh sounding. *grin*
When we got home, Chloe still looked like a sheep dog and we started to learn so much about her. I'm glad that we took her home, despite any initial misgivings...because she's the sweetest, funniest little critter I've ever met! Even though I'm not 100% sure she's a pure bred schnauzer, she's all terrier and even more fun...I can't imagine life without her!
