Arrival Story:
After moving around a lot and finally settling down, my family had been searching for the perfect companion. After visiting three shelters and finding out the pups they'd spent time with were all on waiting lists, they were about to give up rather than continue on broken-hearted. It was a Sunday evening, and they decided to try one last rescue group about 40 minutes north of town. They found me in an x-pen outside of PetSmart. I had been a stray all of my life, wandering the hill country, eating garbage and making friends with strangers, and I was picked up by the Giddings pound. They had me on the kill list when I was rescued by PawMatch. My family found me and brought me to my forever home. I was definitely worth the search!

As a greyhound mix, I am very fast and graceful, but I am also a bit spastic and nervous if I don't get enough exercise. I am still too anxious to just sit quietly and accept pets. I need to chew on something to release my nervous energy! My mom takes me on a walk every morning to hang out with my friends at Brentwood Park. This is my favorite part of every day! As a pointer mix, I love to tree birds and squirrels and I am happiest when I have a job to do which makes me easily trainable. I have learned to sit, heel, and I can stay... for a few seconds! I am still learning to come back. I have a bit of ADHD and when I get off the leash, I am a flight risk! Mom and Dad fenced in our front yard so that I can still hang out and say hi to all of my friends that walk by. I love to go for rides in the car! I am a faithful friend and as I get older I am sure to calm down and be terrific mate. Please visit my brother Dobby and wish him well. He will have FHO surgery on February 26 and will need lots of rest and physical therapy before we can hang out and play together.

Today it is cold and thunderstorming, so Mom is making us stay in our kennels. I am BORED. I want to PLAY. I want to go for a WALK.

At least Mom is giving us lots of cookies and pets.

Dobby is home! Dobby is home! We played and played last night. I was so excited, I actually jumped over him like a crazed rabbit.

It will take some getting used to, having a new dog around competing for Mom and Dad's attention. But everyone seems so happy, and he was a great companion on this morning's walk.

Welcome home, Dobster!

Mom and I went on a walk this morning. It was COLD! I am not used to being out when it is freezing.

I wanted to play with my friends off-leash, but Mom says I run out into the street too much. I'm trying to behave, I swear!

I sniffed about Dobby's crate today. He comes home tomorrow. I sure am willing to chew his bones for him while he's gone...
