Well, a little over a year ago (July 2003) I was surfing the net and came across this site called petfinder.com, well while surfing through the rescue dogs, I came across a poodle that they had named "Poo". Now, I already had a white poodle named Poo so I found it interesting that there was another poodle named Poo. I emailed his foster mommy and asked some questions about him.
My fiancee and I ended up going out to her house and meeting 'Poo'... we found out that Poo was just left tied up to the animal shelter and was found by the employees the next day, they didnt know anything else about his background. He needed a haircut real bad and all his teeth were rotted so they had to remove all of them except 3! Well, after hearing his story....we left there a little while later, without Poo but thinking about how nice of a home he would have with us.
he next day, I called his foster mommy and asked her if it would be ok if we took Poo for a weekend trial to see how he got along with our other 2 poodles. She agreed and brough Poo over to our home the next day.
Well, by the end of the weekend, we called her and told her she wasnt going to be getting him back and that we have fell in love with him and plan on keeping him. She was very pleased! We signed all the paperwork and made it official on July 31st, 2003 (hense his new birthday) We changed his name to Roofus, or Roo for short so not to confuse him with our Poo.
He has been with us ever since!
Although he recently was diagnosed with diabetes and had to struggle to stay alive for a while... he is much better now and responding very well to his treatments! But now he is also blind and although he gets around really good, its hard to think he cant see his mommy, daddy or brothers anymore! :-(
