Quick Bio:

Birthday:
June 24th 1995

Likes:
Mac loves to eat, play with his squeaky toys and chew rawhide bones.

Pet-Peeves:
Need to vacuum? Best put Mac in another room or the vacuum cleaner is toast!

Favorite Toy:
His favorite toy is the squeaky hot dog his Grammy bought him when we moved to North Carolina. After 8 years it is still in one piece!

Favorite Food:
Anything that drops on the floor!

Favorite Walk:
Mac likes to take short walks, on his short legs, to the small park a short distance from our house.

Best Tricks:
He's a terrier...he doesn't do tricks!

Arrival Story:
I became Mac's human the fall of 1995. He is definitely a terrier and I love his spunk and independent spirit. At almost 13 years old he sometimes acts like a dog half his age. Mac lost his battle with cancer in February 2010.

Bio:
In Mac's Own Words: I have a pretty good life if you consider a dog's life a good one. First thing in the morning I wake my human up to go outside for a walk. Depending on the weather I either like short walks on my short legs or really short walks! If it is raining I'm likely to run right back inside, but I love snow. Then comes breakfast; my human will feed me and then get ready to head out for work. Once they leave the house is all mine! I like to patrol for a bit and check out what is going on. Sometimes I hear things and bark for a few minutes just to let anyone outside know I heard them- they think I sound much bigger than I am. After a little bit of patrolling I take a nap on the landing of the stairs. This is my favorite place in the house because there is a huge window and I am up above the world. From there I can bark at anyone or anything that passes. After my nap, which can range from 6 to 8 hours I wait for the human to get home and off we go for our walk. Then my favorite time of day DINNER! It's the same as breakfast but for some reason I think I have been starving all day long. After dinner I help my human out around the house, especially if the vacuum cleaner is involved (I love to attack it). Then I get some Mac dog time, but only if I'm interested; after all I am a Scottish terrier. Most of the time I like to curl up in the blue chair that was my Grandpa's chair. I just let my human think this is their chair but in reality it is ALL mine! One of my favorite activities is watching sporting events with my human. This was not always the case. When I was younger I used to get scared when everyone starting cheering and yelling at the TV. I now will bark right along especially if the Aggies are playing. Sometimes when the games are not going so well I lay across the back of the couch with a worried look on my face; I really do understand what is going on. We watch everything but my favorite sport is football, Saturdays in the fall are the best! If there is one thing I don't like it is getting older. I can't jump on the bed anymore, but I get help from the human if I want up so that is OK. I've also been sick a couple of times in the past two years, but am well and on the mend now! At the beginning of January 2008 I was diagnosed with transitional cell carcinoma (TCC) of the bladder (Scotties are at an increased risk for this type of cancer). Luckily my surgery went well and I no longer have any symptoms (thanks Dr. Don). Looking at me when I'm out with my human you would never guess my age. I'm a pretty handsome lad. All in all I enjoy my days and the adventures that are thrown in for variety, like road trips to Texas. I have a pretty good life; it's a dog's life after all!
