I've been adopted today by a wonderful couple and their 10yr old male gsd! I'm so happy they found me and now I'm in my forever home.
I'm so looking forward to spending all my time with my new parents and older brother. We'll have so much fun and I'm so glad I have a permanent family who loves me as much as I'll love them.

The Dog Park

Mom took Solan and me for a ride to the dog park today. We didn't actually go in the dog park but we walked around the outside of the park. There seemed to have been a lot going on. Dogs were jumping on other dogs. Little dogs with Napoleon complexes were running around barking orders here and there. Big dogs were chasing balls and peeing on every fence post. Humans were milling around everywhere, too. I thought dog parks are only for dogs. But I guess you need human bouncers to maintain order. There was certainly a lot of activity and excitement going on.
I badly wanted to join in the fun but Mom wouldn't let us. She planned a hike for us along the trails above the dog park instead. I was disappointed, but what can you do when you have a choker chain around your neck and a leash connecting you to your Mom?
Solan didn't seem to mind going for a hike. He spent all his time smelling dirt and lifting his leg. No manners, that boy. I did not once pee or poop anywhere along the trails. I just don't think it's right to desecrate public parks so I hold it all until we get home. I figure if my Mom doesn't poop and pee in public, then I shouldn't either. I don't understand why she lets Solan get away with it. Sometimes, she encourages him! Well, I hope that one day I'll get invited into the dog park.

Older and Wiser

Solan is full of poop. He's too young to know any better and lacks the manners required to be an all around good pet. I know. I've been through it all and I'm an excellent dog. My previous owners were well aware of this but since they have grown much older than I, I couldn't care for them and they needed the assistance I couldn't provide at the time. But I'm smarter and wiser and know more about human behavior than Solan does. I read his diary rant about the Happy Fields incident and this is the true account.

Just the other day at the Happy Fields, Solan was running back and forth, from one end of the field to the other. I, on the other hand, stayed near my foster Mom and Dad and kept a good eye on them just in case they got lost or something. Dad calls Solan and he starts charging toward us. Before I can move out of the way, he runs me right over! I know he saw me because he was looking right at me. Unless Solan's blind, I think he ran me over on purpose. Solan could have swerved past but no, he had to run me over. Well, my foster Mom would have none of that. She checked me out and made sure I was okay.

Solan sure was lucky I wasn't hurt. Otherwise, he would be in very big trouble.
