Golden days of Rufus

My first swim

My mom and dad took me and Buck to some indoor doggie pool. I was pretty scared at first. I just wanted to get used to the water when I was pulled in. I had some jacket thing on with a lead attached. i mean what was mommy thinking. After a few minutes I got the idea and kinda liked it. I am supposed to go back again soon. Maybe i will not need the jacket? It makes me look funny. My mom says If I go right in then she will let me do my thing- whatever that is?

Freedom

I finally proved to mom and dad that I do not need the crate anymore!! I don't even like looking at that big ugly thing.They keep it in their bedroom so I do not have to look at if I do not want to!! I really never needed it from the start,I am a good boy!!Its weird though my brother Buck like the crate,he sleeps in it at night.What a weirdo??

1st grooming experience

Okay,Now!!!My mom and dad kept saying I needed a haircut.I thought my fur was just right.Well on Saturday my mom took me to this place with strange people and other dogs.I was a little curious at first and I willingly went in the back with a nice lady,then I turned around for my mom and she was gone.She left me there,They stuck me in a cage and I do hate those things.After a bit I got to get out and take a bath (that was okay,I guess)So far so good.WHOA,after that I was back in a cage(what is up with these people)and they put this huge dryer on the front of the cage,this thing was blowing on me for over a half hour.
Okay,I AM DRY NOW!!I was trying to tell those darn ladies!!Oh,yes finally someone understands dog.Okay,nice lady let me out of here.The door opens and I am free.I am done I want to go home!!
NOW WHAT????What the heck are you doing??You are not touching my feet,These two ladies held on to me and someone else came up and strted cutting my hair,my feet,ears.I look pathetic.That took forever,I fought them a bit and I would not let them clean my ears outNO WAY!!
Now,back in the cage!I smell like a girl.
Out of the cage,I hear my moms voice!!Yes,she has come back.
I gave her kisses and hugs and more kisses!!I love her!I want to go away from here and never come back!!
Now I am home with brother Buck and I am happier then ever
I wonder If I will hav to do that again???
