Hershey moves to Connecticut from Maine

April, 2006: I (Hershey) came to live with my Mama and Papa in Connecticut. I was born in southern Maine. Maine is a much bigger state than Connecticut. My parents came up to see one of my sisters to look at. It was raining buckets that day. Kaci (pronounced Casey) also made the trip to see my sisters and I. I actually came to my parents so that they would choose me! I was pretty sure that they would take me home. In fact the first thing my Mama said was "Do you want to go home to Connecticut?"

I love all sorts of squeaky toys. In fact I love them so much that the ducks and mice that I previously had went to squeaky toy heaven. When I don't have a squeaky toy in my mouth I bounce the ball around the house. It makes all sorts of noise and it's lot of fun to play ball.

Kaci and I are new members to Dogster. We have made so many new friends and pup pals. Right now Mama cannot remember all of their names but she knows that we love all of our friends and pup pals.

Hershey and Kaci become friends

April 2006: I (Hershey) have been in my new home for a few days. Kaci and I became good friends. We played and played as much as Mama and Papa would let us. Sometimes we played a little rough so both of us had to take a break.

Kaci would sometimes drag me around by one of my legs. Since I was little I let her do this. When I was about four months old I was taller than Kaci and was able to out run her. That was fun. This made up for all the times I was dragged around like a rag doll!

Hershey makes a big mistake

On Thursday the 21st of February I (Hershey) got into trouble with Mama. While she was at work, I found her foul weather hat and decided that she needed a new one. I chewed the strap that fits under the chin. I don’t have to tell you that I was in the doghouse when Mama came home. Papa offered to fix it but Mama said it wasn't worth it. I am really in big trouble!

Fun this weekend with my Mama

Mama and I (Hershey) got to play this weekend. Yesterday Mama had the day off so we played with some of the squeaky toys I have. It sure is fun running around in circles teasing Mama. I love my squeaky toys so much that the squeaker(s) don't work anymore. It is more fun carrying them around in my mouth! Weekends are fun to have my Mama around.

Today Mama had to do some school work because she is a part-time student so we didn't get to play much today. But I was still able to let her know that I was around and followed her around the house when she was not concentrating on her homework!

Hershey's "big mistake" just became bigger

This is an update to the February 23 entry. Papa bought a new foul weather hat for Mama last night. When he brought it home he wanted Mama to try it on to see how it fit. He was trying to help adjust Mama the inner velcro strap in the hat to fit her head. The original hat was a large size which did not exactly fit. The new hat is medium sized so it fits Mama much better. After looking at the larger hat it was discovered by Mama that not only did Hershey chew the strap that fit under the chin, she also chewed up the velcro hat strap that adjusted the hat.

This is why Hershey felt that Mama really needed a new foul weather hat.
