Arrival Story:
Grace and her 3 month-old puppy ended up in a high-kill shelter in Tennessee after being picked up as strays. I adopted both of them just hours before they were to be euthanized. I named the puppy Cassie. Cassie was very ill and died shortly after getting out of the shelter. Grace was very sick too - she had heartworm disease in addition to other things. It was apparent that she and Cassie had been out on the streets for a long time. Some wonderful volunteers helped me get Grace up north and she was successfully treated for the heartworms. Now, one-and-a-half years later, Grace is very healthy and a devoted, loving member of our family. Her days on the streets are long behind her. And although I never met Cassie, she will always remain in my heart.
Bio:
Grace trains in agility and will be starting competition in the Fall of 2004. Her full name is "Memphis Take No Prisoners". Grace would love to have people come and watch her, so if you're ever at an agility trial in the Midwest, stop and look for Grace!
