Arrival Story:
Murphy was picked up as a stray by a city animal control, and we adopted him on Valentine's Day this year. He had a severely deep shearing wound to the bone on his rear hock, and usually held that leg up while walking. He has several scars and was so emaciated. Every rib and bone was jutting out. In the first two months he went from 66 lbs. to 85 lbs. We discovered he had hookworms and heartworms. Right now he is loving affection, new dog and cat buddies, food, treats, watching for possible intruders out the window, and following me around the house. His leg finally healed, and he then made it through the long heartworm treatment. He is a great addition to our family, and I believe that he is very happy to have a safe place to be.
