not playfulvery playful

Sun Sign:
Quick Bio:

May 8th 2004

playing catch for hours, attention of any kind

Animals on TV; he YELLS at them

Favorite Toy:
the "blue" ball (you may see a yellow or blue ball in the pics)

Favorite Food:
Chicken soup for the dog lover's soul

Favorite Walk:
petsmart; he hears the tune on tv and RUNS for the door or to the local hospital for a visit

Best Tricks:
Roll over (even on concrete, "tell me" (baarroooroooroor), sit pretty, and he can pee on command

Arrival Story:
My coworker's twin daughters both owned dogs and paid for the stud fees. They birthed and raised the puppies and used the money for college. Had a poodle as a kid, and just happened to come at the right time as we recently lost our very amazing, well behaved and mellow Dalmation, Buster. Once I held that little apricot and white handful on his back, he just lay there and gazed at me with those big black glittery eyes without trying to get away or roll over, I was HOOKED. Hubby wanted the black one, I wanted the runt (Alex). Sometimes I tease hubby and remind him of that, but that black one ate ROCKS for crying out loud!!! That big white blotch on top of his head was the cutest thing I ever saw. I was not going to be deterred...

Alex is just a LOVE. He could only be happier if I had five children or more (we have none). When he was a pup he could get that tiny little darting tongue up the nose, in the ears, even thru tightly pursed lips. He is simply happy all the time, wags his tail even in his sleep! At just after a year old, we found he had pretty severe bilateral luxating patellas (fancy for his knees kept popping out of joint). He had surgery on both legs to have repaired, and they did both at the same time. He had staples from mid-thigh to mid-lower leg. He looked like franken-dog. When he came home, it took almost a week and one half before his tail wagged again. I thought I had broken my dog! Except for that time period, his tail is in almost constant motion... Sounds like a hound when he bays for attention; pretty low pitched for a small dog! He goes to the hospital to visit alot since I work at a local hospital, and he has made many friends there.

Forums Motto:
Not spoiled; just well taken care of.

Meet my Pup Pals

Some days are a ball, some are a bone.

Last night, my owner spent an hour updating my page, and posting pictures. It must have been really hard for her to pick her pictures because there are quite a few of me!

Today, I was "helping" with the laundry like I always do, and I snatched up some little yummy that fell out of her pants pocket onto the floor. I am usually really good about not eating things from the floor unless I am told to, but today I guess I just couldn't help myself. Well, this little "yummy" was not meant for me. It was a pill. Actually, it could have been one of a couple different things. So today I got the treat of an unexpected trip to the vet, and a SC shot of morphine. Morphine you ask? Well, apparently it is not as good as people think it is, because all it did was make me throw up. Now, I am home, mopey, and hoping nothing else is wrong with me.

Please! Tell your owners to check their pockets!!! My owner feels TERRIBLE and *I* am the one who spent this afternoon throwing up! Just remind your owners that no matter how good we may be almost all of the time, sometimes we fool you.

Alex did go to the vet, and vomited them up. He is currently recovering from the trauma, and has started wagging his tail again.
