Arrival Story:
Hiker is my new foster! He came to us very ill. Hookworms, colitis... he was not in good shape. He lost around 10 lbs. before we got his symptoms under control. Poor pup!

Bio:
Hiker was very underweight, but we are working hard to bring him back up. He is almost at his goal weight at about 54 lbs. He is a funny, goofy dog that loves to be around his people. He loves kids, but his clumsy nature could be hazardous to small ones. Hiker is content to lounge around the house or go out and about. He is super sweet, and very well mannered. Most of the time he is pretty mellow, unless he sees a kitty or other small animal. Then he is alert and ready. So no tiny housemates for him! Did I mention, he is crate trained and housebroken? If you are interested in meeting Hiker, please contact me or Animal House at animalhousehelp.org or 970-224-DOGS. Hiker was adopted 7/8/08!!!!!

A Great Day.

Hi Everyone!

Today my FM was at the shelter and she let me stay up in the front office ALL DAY. She said that I was going home! I was super excited cuz she hasn't taken me home in a couple weeks.

BUUUUUUT then, the people came. The couple that really really loves me. They talked to FM for a really long time about me and then did some paperwork and then FM started kissing me and said goodbye.

Guess what friends? I have a real home now. A forever home and it is going to be great.

Update!

Hi everyone.

I am sort of sad this evening. In fact, it isn't me that is writing this, it is FM. I told her to tell my dogster friends about how I am doing since she made me go live at the shelter again. I really don't like it here, but FM said I would get seen here. Whatever that means.

I do know some people came the other day and really liked me. Not just liked me like everyone else that walked through to see my cute little face peeking over the fence. They liked me a lot and said that they wanted to take me home. FM says if their references check out, I can go home by Tuesday. Home? Back to FMs? Or with the new people? I don't know, but anywhere is better than here. I just want to window watch for squirrels and be able to sleep in peace.

FM will let you know when I actually get adopted. But till then, see you pups later!

Something from a post I wrote.

I wrote this today and FM thought it would be nice to put in my diary too!

Hi!! I am the sweetest dog in the world. I am not a bad apple. Sure I may not have had the best life before I came to Colorado, but I really try to be a good dog. I have great potential. I promise to only potty outside and never chew on your things, if you promise to give me exercise and let me outside when I start whining and doing the potty dance. And to love me. And never abandon me, cuz if I ever have to go back to a shelter I will surely die. (I almost did before!)

I deserve more than the life I was handed. I am homeless through no fault of my own and for that I was almost killed. I am ready for a new start. All I ever want is to be the dog you want me to be.
