ADOPT 08 CONTEST
It was St. Valentine's Day, mom and dad were having breakfast at their favorite place. Mom was sad, she was thinking about her adored Portos, she was missing her Valentine GSD a lot, and suddendly she saw me. I looked lost and very tired, so mom called me and I approached her as I knew her from before. Mom gave me fresh water and told me to stay beside her, and so I did. Mom and dad stayed at the coffee shop for about two hours, waiting to see if anybody looked for me...nothing...no one came. Mom gave her phone number to a lot of people there in case someone could ask for me, and with dad took me to every vet near the place to see if any knew me...nothing. They took me home, and there I met Luna and Gaia, we got along perfectly. Later I met Rosy and Sissi, no problem, there were nice too. Then I met the biggest dog I ever saw, Toby, and he was very very nice too. That first night I slept with my human sisters and two of my canine sisters, but mom couldn't resist and came to sleep with us. She whispered in my ears something about a doggie called Portos and that I was his Valentine's gift from Heaven. The next day mom decided I needed a name and called me Brandy, and took me to her bedroom along with Toby, Luna and Gaia. Since then I sleep there (on the bed, of course), and I follow mom everywhere she goes. Portos, I never met you here on Earth, but I know you guided me to mom, and I promess you I'll love her and protect her forever.

When Brandy arrived home, she showed signs of having been beated, she was so afraid of any sign of raising arms even to hug her or to call her. Now she's a totally different dog, proud of herself, very friendly and not scared anymore. No one, ever, will beat her again, and together with my family, human and canine, we pray for every and each suffering, scared pup, for them to find a safe, warm, sweet and loving forever home.

When Brandy arrived home, she showed signs of having been beated, she was so afraid of any sign of raising arms even to hug her or to call her. In these past days she has gained more self-confidence, but we'll have to work a lot on her to help her to understand that no one is going to beat her never again in her life.
